2- FAIRS AND CONFERENCES

Trade fairs related to fashion in which FITEX, partner of ECUVal project, has been present with a stand.

2.1 BSTIM, the second edition of the fair for textile production Igualada from 24nd to 25rd February 2016

2.2 MOMAD. International fashion and accessories trade show Madrid from 9th to 11th September, 2016

2.3 BSTIM – The European Knitwear Fair Igualada from 22nd to 23rd February 2017

The purpose of the attendance of these fairs was to explain the ECUVal project through the roll-up and the initial leaflet. In addition, the project was explained to all visitors and companies who visited the stand of FITEX.

The aim of the fair is to make business relationships easier among textile enterprises in Catalonia and managers of fashion products productions with brands and European distributors.

The initial leaflet of the project and the roll-up are attached in annex 1 and 2 respectively.

2.4 SMAGUA 2017: 22 International water and irrigation exhibition

FITEX, partner of ECUVal project, took part in the in 22th International water and irrigation exhibition. FITEX participated in the 12 business meetings in SMAGUA with different companies at national and international level. ECUVal project was presented in all the business meetings and also the initial leaflet (annex 1) was set in several specific points in the fair to inform other companies about the project.

The international fair took place in Zaragoza on 8th February 2016.

2.5 IFAT resources, innovation, solutions. World’s Leading Trade Fair for Water, Sewage, Waste and Raw Materials Management

Carmen Gutiérrez and Martí Crespi visited the IFAT 2016 in Munich, the world's leading trade fair for water, sewage, waste and raw materials.

The aim of their visit was to obtain information on suppliers and competitors related to the development of the ECUVal project.

Dissemination of ECUVal project was also carried out thanks to the collaboration of the Spanish company Bio-fil, which ceded a part of its stand “Wastewater Treatment Solutions” to expose the ECUVal leaflets (annex 1) and to provide detailed personal information to IFAT visitors interested in the project (http://www.bio-fil.es/2016/07/ifat-2016/).

The fair took place in Munich from 31st May to 1st-2nd June 2016.

BIO-FIL explained on the company website the presentation of ECUVal project in the fair (annex 3).

2.6 10th ISEB Conference

INTEXTER participated in the “10th ISEB Conference”, organized by The International Society for Environmental Biotechnology (ISEB) and Universitat Politècnica de Catalunya (UPC).

Valentina Buscio presented the ECUVal project with the poster entitled “ECUVal system, a treatment to reuse textile wastewater and to improve efficiency of biological plants” (annex 4).

The Conference took place in Barcelona from 1st to 3rd June, 2016.

2.7 ACTE Conference – European Textile Collectivities Association

ACTE Association was created in 1991 in Portugal with the objective of working together to face the problems derived from the dependence of territories and their crisis of the textile industry. Aiming to achieve the modernization and diversification of textile industry, FITEX used this opportunity to explain ECUVal project to companies who were interested in sustainability issues to expose the ECUVal leaflets (annex 1).

The conference took place in Igualada on 7th June 2016.

2.8 Who’s Next Première Class Trade Show

“Who’s Next” is the largest fashion show in Paris and the most important in Europe for professionals of textile and fashion sector. It is a biannual fair and held more than 38 thousands of visitors. FITEX participated to the fair to promote and attract interest of the activities of the technological center. Leaflets (annex 1) were given to all visitors and the project was explained to companies who showed interest in the ECUVal project.

The conference took place in Paris from 2nd to 5th September, 2016.

2.9 ETP Fibre Textile Clothing: Towards a 4th Industrial Revolution for Textiles and Clothing

Some 150 participants from 24 countries attended the conference “European Textiles – going digital, going high-tech” held on 12-13 October in Brussels. The key highlight of the event, organised by the European Technology Platform for the Future of Textiles and Clothing (Textile ETP), was the unveiling of the Strategic Innovation and Research Agenda (SIRA).

On 12th October, a series of plenary sessions were dedicated to key technology developments in the major manufacturing stages such as fabric formation, textile surface processing and assembly and fashion production. On 13th October, a succession of plenary and parallel sessions explored the market opportunities and technology trends in key technical textile application areas such as construction, health care, sports, protection, environment and agriculture. The event was expected to bring together industry innovators, technology providers, researchers, clusters and other actors from the textile and clothing sector from across Europe.

FITEX exhibited leaflets (annex 1) in the networking room and presented the idea and results of the ECUVal project to those who showed interest.

The conference took place in Brussels from 12th to 13th October 2016.

2.10 BEFF – Barcelona Ethical Fashion Fest

BEFF – BCN Ethical Fashion Fest – is a commitment to creative, necessary and sustainable fashion. The organizers are passionate about fashion and at the same time they are aware of the environmental and social impact, it has. More than 45 pop-up stores were present all the week-end long where one was able to see, touch and buy sustainable clothing and accessories for adults and children. Moreover, catwalks, speeches and documentary screenings took part of the fashion fest.

FITEX was involved in one main conference during the first day of BEFF to discuss the transition to a more sustainable textile industry with the presentation “Hacia una industria textile sostenible: ECUVal, un caso práctico de tratamiento de aguas en la industria textile” (annex 5). During the performance, Marcel·la Vidal presented the ECUVal project: its objectives and their non-confidential results up to that date were disseminated to the enthusiastic audience who shows a great interest in the project. FITEX was asked to give a second part with the advances of the project in the BEFF edition in 2017.

Furthermore, the ECUVal project was also presented with the roll-up and leaflets for its dissemination during the three days that the BEFF fest lasted.

The conference took place in Barcelona from 3rd to 5th November 2016.

2.11 International Integrated Water Cycle Show” (iWater)

On 15th November 2016, INTEXTER participated in the workshop “Eco-innovation projects in the water sector” organized by CEIT-IK4. The workshop was part of the “International Integrated Water Cycle Show” (iWater) which took place in Barcelona from 15th to 17th November, 2016.

M. Carmen Gutiérrez, coordinator of ECUVal project, presented the current status of the ECUVal project with the presentation “ECUVal: Recycling of salty effluents after removal of colour by Electrochemical and Ultraviolet treatments” (annex 6).

The workshop took place in Barcelona from 15th to 17th November, 2016.

2.12 Conference: Sustainability and circular economy in the textile-fashion sector

FITEX participated in the conference held in Igualada about Sustainability and circular economy in the textile-fashion sector. This conference was planned as a discussion forum for companies and organizations in the sector to detect new opportunities that may be transformed into new processes, products, services, etc., which contribute to improving the competitiveness of the textile and clothing.

In relation to ECUVal project, the initial ECUVal roll-up was exposed and FITEX explained the technology to the manufacturers and distribution companies.

The conference took place in Igualada on 21st February 2017.

2.13 Moritz Feed Dog – Fashion Documentary Film Festival Barcelona

FITEX participated to Moritz Feed Dog festival on Saturday 1st of April. The aim of its participation was to share a roundtable with other speakers to discuss about whether a more sustainable fashion industry is possible or not. Firstly, the documentary “Out of Fashion” (Moest Väljas, http://moritz.feeddog.org/programa-2017/out-of-fashion/) was shown and after that each speaker presented a project where sustainability played an important role. FITEX presented the current status of the ECUVal project with the presentation “Una nova indústria és possible? ECUVal, un exemple de millora de la sostenibilitat dels processos tèxtils” (annex 8).

The festival took place in Barcelona from 30th March to 1st April 2017.

2.14 12th Annual Public Conference of the European Technology Platform for the future of textiles and clothing

The focus of the event was "Textile Research in HORIZON 2020". At the conference, the textile-related EU projects currently running or recently completed, were presented. This event was also used to present the opinion of the ETP’s about H2020 programme and to discuss topics that should be included in the upcoming H2020 calls.

INTEXTER and FITEX attended to this event. The ECUVal project was explained individually to several participants by José Antonio Tornero, David Garcia and Marcel·la Vidal. Some of them showed interest to attend to the demonstration of ECUVal project. Also, the new ECUVal leaflets were exposed (annex 9).

The conference took place in Brussels on 30-31 March 2017.
