When writing up you aims...

Introduce each aim by giving a bit of background to it Make sure each Aim is relevant to the Hypothesis

(too many are separate essays e.g. Aims of the Prison Service)

Make several references to the Aim when you are writing ‘conclusion sentences’ – “so clearly, it is the case for people with mental health issues that prison is not a punishment which fits the crime”

As well as ‘conclusion’ sentences, your developed conclusion at the end must link back CLEARLY to the Aim

It is also useful to have a link to the next aim to ‘tell the story’..... “As will be seen below, while poverty may be argued to be a significant cause of crime, it is by no means the only one”

RESEARCH, RESEARCH, RESEARCH –names, quotes, theories, reports? Why are we not using things like our speakers / visit to the Scottish Parliament ?

Could anyone have said what you are saying without the research? Some are offering very generalised statements which someone ‘off the street’ could have come up with
