Hello readers, it was another fine weekend for being out and about the weather was truly amazing. We had wonderful sunshine and temperatures above 20 degrees, visitors walking around topless were a common sight and it seems the temptation for them to remove their shirts and get some sun was just too much.the beaches attracted sun bathers and families with children here for half term holidays, children playing in the sand and teenagers playing beach football the area was buzzing with weekenders and tourists it really was a scene that looked as if it was from the summer months.Carnival is next on the agenda so we hope the weather continues to be so pleasant and mild for the event with the parade in the evening of saturday March 1st it will be a colourful and lively procession, it’s not to be missed so we hope you can come along to enjoy the festivities.it’s been a busy week for sport with Champions league back on our tV screens mid-week as well as a weekend of six Nations rugby and Premiership Football. the Winter olympics came to a close it was record event for the uk in 19th place with four medals including 1 gold! Norway secured second place with 26 medals with russia taking a total of 33.

Well it seems that it is all about the politics, between the two parties’ the socialist and the popular party. the construction of the towns Cultural Centre actually started back in 2007 and has a colossal 35,000 square meter building. the Cultural & Conference Centre, this had an initial budget of 40 million euro’s. Beforehand the site was home to the town’s football pitch and training ground. the plans for the project include a massive auditorium seating 1140, a smaller auditorium seating 546, 18 changing rooms, international library, classrooms and an archaeological museum. After five years the council has admitted that that they had run out of money, the funding was supposed to be from the General Community of Valencia a project of this size

was always going to be far too expensive for local government to meet the cost. so what has happened to the financial support from Valencia?the town needs the centre and to help promote the tourist capital of the region you would of expected long before now to of seen the funds in place to carry out the required work. Altea and La Nucia each have auditoriums and regularly host cultural events; Benidorm it seems has been left by the way side. Local businesses and hoteliers have suffered with the fact that their customers have had to bear the ugly sight of the empty site that simply spoils the area. so literally watch this space for any further developments!!!!

A FEW quiCk tAx tipsNoN–ResideNts

declarInG oFFshoreassetsA Few Quick tax tips - declaring offshore Assets.there has been a lot of controversy regarding the change in the law relating to the declaring of assets held offshore (i.e outside spanish territory) by permanent fiscal residents of spain. Here are a few simple facts which may help you to know how this law affects you:

• Who should declare assets abroad? If you are a fiscal resident of spain (if you live here for more than 6 months of the year, your primary residence is here, and/or your main income is here.

• What should be declared? Any bank account which has more than 50,000€, any property with a value of 50,000€ (100,000€ for a couple) any stocks, shares, dividends and investments of more than 50,000€.But NoW For tHe Good NeWs, ANd tHe Most iMPortANt PoiNt For ALL tHose FeArFuL oF tHe tAX AutHorities;

Although all the above should be included on your tax return, it is important to note that although you are informing the tax authorities of the existence of these assets, you do not have to pay any taxes on these unless all added together they amount to 1,000,000 euros. (Per PersoN) so all you are doing is telling them about it, this does not imply any payment in most cases.Another important point is that under international double taxation laws you cannot be charged tax in two places on the same income/asset.

BurGer kiNG reFuse to CLosethe last attempt to evict Burger king (situated on Avenida Nicaragua) of the municipal land occupied before going to the courts seems to of failed. the fast food chain has failed to give up the municipal ground in the time given by the City Council. the business argues that it has acquired rights and raises even compensation of up to 1.5 million euros. the multinational fast-food Burger king has ignored the deadline the

Council gave her to abandon the municipal plot next to the old cemetery since 2008. the deadline expired last december 31 and the company has not made any hint of moving on and to restore the land to its original state and find another site and it seems that they have no intention of giving up.the Mayor, Agustín Navarro, moved it yesterday to members of the neighbourhood Council.in recent months the City Council that are responsible for the establishment have had several meetings to try to resolve the situation. the negotiations are at a standstill. the trading company has offered 800,000 euros to be paid in 20 years; the initial offer was half to carry on trading in the current location, a city plot described as parkland. Yesterday the Mayor said the aim of the Council is not negotiating a price but to comply with the neighbourhood Council and to retrieve this plot and convert the space into a square or Park.Mayor Navarro said "that although the deadline has already expired, the City Council continues to try to reach an agreement so that the company will vacate the plot without having to reach the courts, because in the courts this issue could take years".the next meeting, this time with "the Chief" from Burger king in spain is scheduled in two weeks’ time. However, it seems very unlikely City Hall will be able to persuade Burger king basically because the company maintain that they have "acquired rights" on the plot.Burger king has even estimated that if the City Council forced them from the plot then they would have to compensate them with almost 1.5 million euros of bonds, franchise, furniture, fittings, computers, etc.Faced with this situation, the neighbourhood Council yesterday urged the Government to go immediately to the courts to recover the land, given that the company knew perfectly well that the terms of being on the land had an expiration date and that they could occupy it only for ten years.

what́s Onit´s CARniVAl timE

Carnival is one of the most exciting and popular events each year. Holiday makers come back year after year to be a part of the fantastic celebrations and parades. You will start to notice that it’s Carnival season when you start to spot school children walking to school in all sorts of odd looking clothes and props from dads tie to socks that don’t match, you may even catch a glimpse of some fake or painted on moustaches. As the week goes on the children will add another obscure item to their outfits each day it really is wonderful to see and always brings a smile to your face.Carnival is celebrated across the whole of spain each year and always falls on the first saturday before Ash Wednesday, we have reports of many tourists that will miss out on the celebrations this year as it normally falls during February but as easter is very late this year Lent is much later as well, so many holiday makers and people hoping to catch the parade will be already back home or their travels. When you mention Carnival most people will assume you are talking about the world famous festival in rio de Janeiro in which two million people hit the streets every day, the celebrations date right back to 1823! Here in Benidorm we don’t have quite so many people but we still have two fantastic parades there is one for the children in the morning and the main parade in the evening.the children’s parade normally sets off around 11am down Calle Gambo which is the pedestrianized street in the old town, if you can see specsavers then you are in the right place and you can follow the celebration into the town Hall square.

the main event is the evening parade which starts right at the top of Calle ruzafa next to the Crystal Park hotel, the streets will be packed with onlookers, both resident and holiday makers, you will see some fascinating costumes they really do not hold back and with the weather being so warm for this time of year it will be a very comfortable evening with people dancing away enjoying the party. Be warned they do turn the volume all the way up so maybe some earplugs wouldn’t go amiss, the procession also leads everyone down to the town Hal square and many people will continue to party until the early hours so if you are staying nearby be prepared for the noise and much like and fiesta in spain expect some fireworks to be set off nearby.Carnival doesn’t actually finish until tuesday 4th March, on this day they celebrate quite a bizarre but fascinating ritual which is called the “entierro de la sardine” (Burial of the sardine).this symbolises the beginning of Lent and we all know what that means…giving up something we enjoy for 40 days, for this final celebration before Lent there will be another parade, which begins at around 9.30pm, starting at Plaza Mayor, through the old town and ending up at the Poniente Beach, where the sardine is ceremoniously buried or more often cremated. Please be aware that the times given are a guideline and can be subject to change, we hope that you enjoy the celebrations and wish you the very best of luck for anyone who is giving up something they love for 40 days, why not tell us about it email us at [email protected]

HI SPEED WI FI TO YOUR HOME OR BUSINESS

A license inspection at Costa Less su-permarket Benidorm has Cost them in loss of sales! they must no longer sell Newspapers, Magazines, Books, and Greeting Cards.Luis the owner at Costa Less super-market has been in business for the last two years and has been selling a variety of goods that include newspa-pers, greeting cards, magazines, grocer-ies and house hold items. When Luis took over the shop from he carried out the normal document changes required that included the name change on the license, but unknown to him at that time was that the type of license that he had taken over did not allow him to sell some of the items that he had in the shop. this problem only came to light last week when the council inspectors came in to his shop with a notice to inform him that he must change his license.the inspectors from the town hall came to deliver a letter notifying him to either change the license or stop selling the items. the notice recorded that Luis had only 10 days to carry out the change to the licenses or clear out the stock and stop selling the items. As a supermarket the license did not

allow the sale of magazines, newspa-pers, greeting cards or stationary items.so Luis went to the town hall depart-ment and made the necessary enquires to change the license. He was told that the license changes would cost 600€. unfortunately Luis cannot afford to pay 600€ so therefore he must stop selling the items.the fine for not having the correct li-cense is 2000€ a heavy price if caught and due to the fact the inspectors have said that they would be visiting again in 14 days to inspect the goods on sale he has now had to remove the stock from the shelves.in addition to the cost of 600€ re-quired to change the license, further financial difficulties would come from adding the items to the license because the tax paid by Luis as a modula sys-tem is currently 419€ per quarter but if he was to change the license and sell the items classed as a newsagent/sta-tionary would increase his tax to 578€ an increase of 38%.the increase of the modulus tax amount is due to the fact that it is a system is assuming that the items classed as a newsagent business would contribute to 50% of the turnover. Luis

has calculated the sales and told us that it would not even be 10% he knows this because of the sales history for the last two years. the extra 159€ payable every quarter would not make it viable to stock the additional items.Benidorm town hall had recently announced a crackdown on business-es that have an incorrect license. the facts regarding the crackdown are believed to be sparked by the fact that there are so many empty shops, bars and restaurants that the slump of new businesses opening has had an impact on the funds generated from licensing in the town.the crackdown includes stopping bars and cafes from selling items from the bar counter that are not allowed under the license as a bar or cafe items such as books new or second hand, mag-azines, newspapers, greeting cards, dVd's and other handy goods will have to go. Bars having only a license to sell drinks cannot sell food and cafe bars are restricted on the type of food they can sell without having a restaurant license. it is expected that the crack-down and the increase on the number of inspections could take a number of months to complete and there will be a high number of businesses affected.the recommendation is for busi-ness owners to check their license in advance of any inspection to ensure

compliance and avoid any heavy fines and in any doubt to take advice from either a gestoria or legal advisor.

BEnidoRm GEts FAntAstiC REViEW in thE miRRoR on saturday the Mirror released a fantastic review of Benidorm in uit’s lifestyle section, titled “the real Benidorm is full of mountains, coastal roads, snorkelling, cool bars and long sunny lunches”What a fantastic read, after the Benidorm series came to an end it was clouded by more judgment depicting Benidorm for much less than it really has to offer, this story really did give you a sense of hope of attracting more people to the resort to experience many different aspects of the Costa Blanca rather than the same old boozing and mobility scooter nonsense.the article went on to describe fantastic views, segway tours, the fact Benidorm does have its own sand and that it is not imported like many rumours say. it really is a full review with missing very little out mentioning the theme parks, food, and fiestas. the article finished off offering 7-night holiday for 2 people with flights, full board 4-star accommodation, entrance to a theme park of your choice, return boat trip to Benidorm island, and complimentary dinner and cabaret show at the Benidorm Palace nightclub all included!

to find out more and enter the competition visit www.mirror.co.uk and click on the PLAY tab at the top of the page“that stereotypical image of a high rise resort with little more than beaches, bars, and pie and chips catering to a certain type of clientele could not be further from the reality these days.”

Carpe Diem Restaurant Albir

since opening restaurant Carpe diem has grown to be one of the best known places in Albir. Why you might ask? Well it’s quite simple really, great value,

great quality and great hosts. if you haven’t been then you are really missing out because it is so hard to find something for everyone as we all like different things,

At Carpe diem they have really gone the extra mile to please everyone with a completely international menu.

due to the fact that Albir has one of the most mixed nationalities that both reside and also visit the town so it has to accommodate the requirements of the cuisine to suit, that’s why at Carpe diem it has constructed a menu to suit everyone, Fantastic steaks, fish and seafood and also some homemade special vegetarian meals. When i had friends to visit me from the uk it didn’t take me long to decide where to take them all for sunday lunch, being in spain i wanted to avoid the traditional sunday roast although i love it but they eat it most weekends so something a little different is what i was looking for. i gave them a little insight on the way by telling them it wasn’t a spanish restaurant because i know they were not all keen on fish or rice dishes, so in a short description i told them that there should be something for everyone to enjoy as the menu, it was international and would be perfect for them. You know it is hard with visitors because the Brits are really fussy and are not used the way of Mediterranean cuisine. After arriving we all got comfortable and Nicole the owner and host made everyone welcome with drinks and presented the menu. to my surprise my guests ventured away from the very popular steaks on the menu except one who had the Fillet steak and then there were choices from Pork Fillet served with a sauce of your choice, schnitzel, vegetarian lasagne and sole Picasso,We had starters served very soon after our drinks so the fact we were all really quite hungry a smile was shared at the speed of service, chicken satay skewers, tuna salad, prawn cocktail and soup of the day was cream of tomato with basil. it was superbly presented and the food was derved in amazing sized portions just the way we like it!When the mains were served, again we were all taken back by the professional presentation of the food. i had the schnitzel served with chips and salad but after seeing my son had the Fillet steak i was quite jealous because the thick cut portion he had was juicy and medium rare it really looked so appetising i wanted to do a swap….not that there was anything wrong with mine a just had one of those moments where my taste buds were crying out for what someone else had ordered.A fantastic meal was had by all, great comments over dessert and coffee and the biggest surprise of all was when the bill came, for only 11 euro each, it was just out of this world for value for money. the special menu available was only a little more and had some extra variety of dishes.More and more international guests come to Carpe diem a complete 3 course menu, including a drink only € 11,00kitchen is open each day from 12.30 until 21.00 hours.

SELLAThe ancient mountain village of Sella (419m/1375ft) is located 18Km inland from the coastal town of

villajoyosa on the Spanish costa Blanca. This small and authentic village is surrounded by magnificent mountain peaks and ridges, almond terraces, forested valley trails and dramatic gorges, making it a perfect location for walkers. Sella is also famous for having some of the best rock climbing in europe. In the 19th century cholera was widespread in Spain and even small rural villages did not escape. The worst epidemic here in Sella was in 1885 and lasted for 19 days - 18 people died and 45 were seriously infected. at this time the main route between villajoyosa and alcoy passed through Sella, so, to minimize the spread of the disease (and probably from a traveller’s perspective, to minimize any chance of contracting it!) an alternative route that bypassed the village was created.Sella is very convenient in terms of accommodation, transport and cost. It is only about a one hour drive from alicante airport. Benidorm is only 40 minutes away by car. The costa Blanca has a wide choice of all types of accommodation according to your taste and budget, ranging from package deals in Benidorm hotels to apartments and villas in Sella, Finestrat and villa Joyosa. as there is a lot of climbing outside the main valley it is definitely worth hiring a car to make the most of your holiday.

The CholeRa WalkThe cholera Walk is a short circular walk which retraces much of the ancient bypass and takes you past the main spring and picnic area (Font Mayor) so if it’s a nice day, consider a picnic. alternatively you could seek refreshments at one of the local bars or restaurants. along the way there are many

viewpoints and historical locations, one of our favourites is the old bridge, until the arrival of motor cars and when the new bridge was built in the 1920’s, this ancient bridge was the main route into the village of Sella for anyone coming up from the coast. also note, as you look down at the bridge from the main road there are the remains of another construction on the right hand side. Two stone archways are clearly visible; this is believed to be all that remains of an ancient watermill that once stood on this site.as you approach the village, you cannot fail to notice the mighty Puig campana mountain (that’s valencian for Bell Peak) which although is some way off, from this angle it appears to look down over Sella like some mighty guardian.Wherever you are in the area it’s easy to distinguish the Puig campana, firstly because of its huge mass and secondly because of the notch. The notch is called roldan’s notch and the story (apparently true) is that a giant called roldan use to live on the mountain. roldan had a very beautiful wife, in fact she was so beautiful that it angered the Gods and they were so jealous of her beauty that they condemned her to die at sunset! roldan, who loved his wife very much, was furious. as sunset approached, he could no longer control his anger and he kicked the top of the mountain, creating the notch that we see today. By creating the notch, it meant that as the sun went down, a ray of sunlight was visible for an extra few minutes, thus giving roldan and his wife an extra couple of minutes together before she died. The piece of rock that he kicked out landed in the sea and is what we now call Benidorm Island.

It is possible to walk up onto the summit of the Puig campana (1408m/4619ft) but you should allow a full day for this little outing and consider a guide. The walk will bring you into the village, and you

will find yourself at The Plaza Mayor (main square) which is in the heart of the village. This is where the local game, Pelota (handball) is played and also where, during fiestas, most of the celebrations take place there is a small market here on Wednesdays and Fridays as well as 2 Banks with an aTM (good to know), a Small Shop/Butcher, Tobacconist, the doctors Surgery, the Sella Town Hall, Postbox and a Public Telephone. What we didn’t mention because you really can’t miss it is Sella churchThis small but beautifully decorated church of Santa ana is also in the Plaza Mayor and if the doors are open it warrants a look inside.rock climbingSella is one of the main crags in the costa Blanca region. This extensive area offers many different types of climbing. easy and mid-grade sport routes are found at the most popular main crags in the centre of the valley, whilst mid to harder grade routes are concentrated in steeper sectors like the famous Wild Side. There are also mostly bolted multi-pitch climbs in Pared de rosaria as well as entirely traditional routes in Puig campana. all of this on great quality limestone!

MosT of sella’s RouTes aRe uP To 30 M of slabby oR veRTiCal, fingeRy and TeChniCal CliMbing on liTTle CRiMPs and holes.

The costa Blanca’s sunny weather makes it a brilliant climbing destination throughout the year. However, the best time to visit is from September until april. The most popular sectors in Sella have a Southerly orientation which makes them a perfect destination on sunny winter days. although the steep Sector Wild Side hardly ever gets the sun, summertime will generally be too hot unless you head for the north-facing crags like Pared de rosaria.

ANd tHe streets Were FiLLed WitH doGs!

sunday saw Benidorm Poniente Beach and its streets taken over by dogs as owners, volunteers and rescue centres came together to show support for spains Hunting dogs. the breeds used for hunting are energetic and loyal breeds but most have a very distressing end to their lives. seen as just a tool for a job they are abandoned at the end of the season starved and in terrible physical condition. dogs are found left to die in warehouses and out buildings. Many are killed by their owners by hanging them from a tree or if lucky getting killed by a gum. sunday

saw a National campaign across spain with Cities such as Barcelona, Zaragoza, Bilbao and Benidorm all showing support for all animals and especially hunting dogs by having a march through their towns at noon with a meeting and speech at the end of it. in Benidorm the march started from Poniente Beach and ended up at the town Hall with both spanish and english speeches being read asking for legislation against all animal mistreatment, abuse, abandonment and killing. the crowd of over 200 and their dogs supported the request for more help for hunting dogs. that there must be a way to stop the tragic end of life that happens to so many of them and the terrible conditions they are subjected to in the name of ‘hunting’. these dogs are faithful, loyal and loving animals that make great family pets. Calm and affectionate the call went out that these dogs must be invited into your homes as they make wonderful pets. the march was led by sPAP Benidorm dog Pound and Benidorm dog Homing volunteers (Facebook

page). the volunteers support the dogs by socialising them and finding new homes for them. For more information please join our Facebook page Benidorm dog homing or call maria on 677 37 33 96. Gill Brookshaw. life and Business development coach www.recoveringme.co.uk

WHAt is trANsieNt isCHAeMiC AttACkA transient ischaemic Attack (tiA) is also known as a mini- stroke. it is caused by a temporary lack of blood and therefore oxygen (ischaemia) to a part of the brain. in most cases this is due to a tiny blood clot in one of the blood vessels in the brain.

tiAs and strokes are more common in people who:Have diabetesAre overweightsmokedrink alcohol above the recommended safe limitsdo not adhere to a healthy dietdo not exercise sufficientlyHave high blood pressureHave high cholesterolHave a family history of strokes, tiAs , angina or heart attacks.unlike a stroke, symptoms such as weakness, slurred speech or visual problems, will normally disappear within 24 hours, hence the term mini- stroke. A stroke however can cause permanent disability or even death.Because symptoms of a tiA resolve quickly, the patient may not seek medical attention and may later refer to the event as having had a ‘funny turn’

Cafe MiChaelCalle Santa faz 23, BenidorM, Spain

“Great Basic Food - Value For Money”Reviewed 13 February 2014Just a basic cafe in the Old Town - But an amazing menu considering the size of the cooking area.Good honest food, with no frills. Clean, and good and polite service from all the staff. Would recommend it as a must if you are self catering, as an affordable and good place to eat. It’s as cheap as shopping and cooking yourself.

“Good old northern hospitality”Reviewed 12 February 2014When tapas or the all inclusive gets a bit much this friendly little cafe is a breath of fresh air. My mug of coffee was made exactly as i requested and the three meals i enjoyed were all very tasty. One day i had the homemade quiche another the veggie breakfast and lastly pie chips and mushy peas. Good price for lovingly produced food. Keep it up.

“Meal”Reviewed 18 January 2014We really enjoyed our meal there today, the service was second to none, we would definetely recommend Cafe Michael to one and all

“Small and Friendly”Reviewed 8 January 2014We went for Brunch at Cafe Michael, this is a great little place with a very varied and reasonable menu. Pies and Pasties from one euro! Home cooked chips and brilliant service what more could you ask for :-) worth a look and open from breakfast to late.

Wooky holloW 2C/CuenCa 20 & C/ Gerona, BenidorM

“Lovely Bar!”Reviewed 23 February 2014 Great for if you are home sick and want a full English breakfast! And if you are a Liverpool fan! It has a lot memorabilia inside. Service was fast and efficient.

“biggest breaky ever!”Try the 8 euro breaky!! wow!! came out on a baking tray, but just the cure for a hangover!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

“Love the place”Reviewed 9 February 2014Go in most nights when were there in August. Friendly staff ,decent grub and well kept beer 2 tv,s so it’s coronation street for the mrs and football for me - happy days

“1st class english brekki”Reviewed 8 February 2014Discovered this place on last 2 days of our weeks holiday. we were staying at the centro madeira on a b+b basis, however the breakfast was awful in the hotel, so decided to eat out and found the wooky hollow, so glad we did....a superb English breakfast and a very warm welcome.....thank you....

“Fantastic sports bar and diner”Reviewed 3 February 2014This is one of the best bars in Benidorm, food is exceptionally good value, staff are extremely friendly and Christmas Dinner was brilliant. Karaoke at night is also very good and loads of un.

“Great food”Reviewed 3 January 2014Great food, recommened place for food or just a drink, only across the road from the Loixmar and the owners are very polite although not much English but they get what they are trying to sat across, lovely people.

“Not again”Reviewed 26 October 2013This is a snack bar of the dime-a-dozen type. The service was friendly but spotty, and it was clear that they are ill-equipped to serve a large group (10+) of people. The prices were reasonable, but I would have expected better quality, tastier food. What we got tasted cheap. This is the sort of place where, in a pinch, you pop in for a quick byte and a pint, never to return again.

“Food ok, service was interesting!”Reviewed 15 October 2013Our party of 7 found the food fine - there was a good range on the menu and a suitable children’s menu. The lady who was serving us was a little confused with our larger order, but managed to get it right in the end! She didn’t have very much English. No baby chair, which was disappointing. Nothing overwhelming, but did the job at the time.

“Drinks”Reviewed 9 September 2013Called in the Admiral on the Sunday of the Football Match and just had one drink. It was pleasent enough but no atmosphere.

ASK the OpticiAn:CAtArACtsJorge martinez de lizarduy araico, store director from specsavers opticas Benidormq: what are cataracts?a: there are three main types of cataract:• A nuclear cataract – this causes gradual reduction in vision• A cortical cataract – this may give rise to poor vision associated with seeing haloes around lights or seeing double with one eye.• Posterior subcapsular lens opacities – these tend to cause reduction in vision (especially for reading), susceptibility to bright lights and glare.q: am I at risk of developing them?a: As we grow older, the lens of the eye becomes less clear until, ultimately, a cataract that causes reduction in vision is present. those with a family history of cataracts should be checked regularly as they are at higher risk of developing early cataracts.q: what can I do to avoid cataracts?a: unfortunately there’s not much we can do to avoid them, as they are generally part of the ageing process. too much sunlight may make people more susceptible to cataracts so it’s important to wear good quality sunglasses.q: how are cataracts treated?a: they are treated very effectively by a common surgical procedure.specsavers opticas in Benidorm is currently offering free eye tests. to make an appointment visit www.specsavers.es or by calling your local store on 965 859 577.

Permanent makeup is a cosmetic technique which employs tattoos (permanent pigmentation of the dermis) as a means of producing designs that resemble makeup, such as eyelining and other permanent enhancing colors to the skin of

the face, lips, and eyelids. it is also used to produce artificial eyebrows, particularly in people who have lost them as a consequence of old age, disease, such as alopecia totalis, chemotherapy, or a genetic disturbance, and to disguise scars and white spots in the skin such as in vitiligo. it is also used to restore or enhance the breast's areola, such as after breast surgery. Most commonly called permanent cosmetics, other names include dermapigmentation,

micropigmentation, and cosmetic tattooing,[1] the latter being most appropriate since permanent makeup is, in fact, tattooing. in the united states and under similar arrangements in some other countries, the colourant additives used in permanent makeup pigments are subject to pre market approval as cosmetics and or color additives under the Federal Food, drug, and Cosmetic Act. However because of other competing public health priorities and a previous lack of evidence of safety problems specifically associated with these pigments, FdA traditionally has not exercised regulatory authority for color additives on the pigments used in tattoo inks.

removalAs with tattoos, permanent makeup can be difficult to remove. Common techniques used for this are laser resurfacing, dermabrasion (physical or chemical exfoliation), and surgical removal. Camouflaging—adding a new pigment which counteracts the tattoo color and attempts to emulate normal skin color is considered a poor choice by professionals. removal is more painful and laborious than the tattooing itself.the choice to get a tattoo that is later regretted is related to the end-of-history illusion, in which teenagers and adults of all ages know that their tastes and preferred fashion and makeup styles have changed regularly over the years before the current moment, but they believe that their tastes will somehow not continue to grow and mature in the future.

the mayor of L'Alfas del Pi , Vicente Arques, has agreed with the president of the Foundation Frax , Matías Pérez such to renew the existing agreement with the private cultural institution , to keep open all year public parking , located in shoreline of Albir. An agreement valued at 6,000 euros that enables 180 parking spaces, reduced to only 75 months between June and August.the privately owned a plot of 9,500 square meters occupied in part by the building for the cultural center, leaving the remaining 2,100 square feet of concourse for other uses. the Cultural Foundation Frax, as has always explained that the president has had the opportunity, Matías Pérez such, decided to pave the lot two years ago , a performance that not only transformed the rocky ground in a parking lot, but doubled its capacity from 90 scarce places the current 180.While it is true that the agreement signed at the time ratified by the same amount of 6,000 euros again for public parking gets a lot in a state of neglect, so it does not conflict with other uses such as well tinged President the Frax Foundation is a private property.

It’s all you need for a great read.Issue 20 / 25 Feb - 3 March 2014

HoroscopeYour weeklyYour early adoption of some gadget or catchphrase on Monday will have positive repercussions for you throughout the week and

might set you on a new path. Your management skills will come into play midweek, and will definitely work to your advantage. The more people you’ve got on your side, the better. By Friday at the latest, your vision will be taking shape in reality and you’ll have all the assistance you can use. Watch out for little frustrations over the weekend - you might tend to blow them out of proportion.

ARIESYou’ll be thinking and operating on a deeper level on Monday. You’ll take your current interests somewhere you hadn’t expected

to go. Family or business partners might start acting dictatorial on Tues-day, but it won’t last long and you’re probably better off just going along until they get bored. Late in the week you will be open to new ideas and might find someone who’s on your wavelength to expand your conceptual space. The weekend will inspire you to at least think about making a big change in your life. Try to articulate your desire as clearly as possible.

GEMInI

Do something nice for yourself on Monday, and don’t let yourself make a single sacrifice unless it’s vital to your sense of self. Your

sensory and interpersonal awareness will be extremely sensitive through Thursday, so get ready for a barrage of data that might overwhelm from time to time. Your emotions will be out of sync with most people late in the week. Expect to feel a sense of alienation, but also a sense of pride in feeling honest emotions. Stick with big-picture or creative tasks over the weekend.

CAnCERYou’ll be on the cutting edge all day Monday, but not so far out that you make your friends nervous. Midweek brings a strong

sense of needs - both your own and others’. Try to help out as much as you can, but don’t neglect yourself. You’ll have all the answers on Thurs-day and Friday, and your friends and family will be glad for all your help and advice. The weekend will bring an opportunity, but you should be profoundly skeptical. That’s not to say you shouldn’t take it - but examine it carefully first.

LEOThough you’ll feel constrained by family or work obligations on Monday, try to just go with the flow and let freedom come natu-

rally. Soon - as early as Tuesday morning - you’ll see a definite payoff, as well as an upwelling of powerful creative energy. Later in the week, you’ll need to be flexible as little diversions and interruptions get in the way of your daily routines. On Saturday and Sunday, you’ll have to be the driving force for the group, but don’t get too frustrated if others dawdle.

VIRGO

Monday will feel a little bit unfair, like everyone has won a prize but you. The feeling won’t last long, because by early Tuesday morning

you’ll be feeling grounded and able to reclaim any lost ground. In fact, midweek will be a good time for you to expand your ambitions and set new goals. People whom you don’t know well will rub you the wrong way on Thursday or Friday, but it’s just superficial personality conflict rather than a sign of deeper hostility. Get together with friends over the weekend, especially if you’re feeling down.

TAURUS

Very early in the week, you’ll feel like exploring some new territory. It might be actual turf, or it might be emotional - go wherever you feel is calling out for you. By Tuesday morning you’ll have reached

your limit in at least one direction. It might be an authority figure in your way or a mental block. Later in the week you’ll feel in touch with those around you, and have a much sharper insight into their thinking than you had in the past. The weekend will be busy but slow, so don’t get frustrat-ed if it turns out that no individual project advances very far.

LIBRAMonday is great - you’ll be in the best mood you’ve seen all month or maybe all year. The good mood will last longer if you

take time out for artistic culture midweek. Try to soak up something totally new to you. Your social skills will be sharp on Thursday and Friday, which is good timing as you’ll meet one or more new people that will grow into important roles in your life. Be very careful with valuables over the weekend: Your attachments to material things will be extremely tenuous.

SAGITTARIUS

Step into the week carefully and confidently. If you know where you’re going and have the trip planned, there won’t be any prob-lems. Midweek you’ll be rewarded or otherwise recognized for

your great performance. It’s a good time to finish up projects and start on new ones. New ideas will be a dime a dozen later on, so try to stall on taking any action that deviates too far from your pre-existing plans. Over the weekend, you’ll be able to get a lot done, even without much help. Music will be a great way to break up the work time.

CAPRICORnBig changes are afoot on Monday, and they’ll be mostly for the good. You might find yourself thinking about new directions.

Tuesday and Wednesday will be fairly mysterious - it might seem as if everything just happens on its own, without any discernible cause. Stay flexible and the feeling will pass. Your brilliance will be on display toward the end of the week, and you’ll scoop up some new believers as you rat-tle off your plans for change. Be careful with spending over the weekend - make sure that you balance your own needs with your generosity.

AQUARIUSKeep your eyes and ears open on Monday - you’ll need to be fully attentive to catch the most important exchanges. The middle part

of the week will be focused on group activities. You’ll be able to identify a change or addition that will help everyone tremendously. By Friday, your mind will be working overtime. Give it a rest by taking in a movie or vegging with a video game. Anything that can take your mind off the current situation will be perfect. The weekend will be wonderful for you, and those around you will take delight in your creative impulses.

PISCES

Follow along with the flow around you on Monday - but keep a wary eye on the road ahead. The middle part of the week is great

for career moves. You’ll be in the good graces of your supervisors and will have a firm understanding of your ambitions. An unexpected mes-sage or complaint comes late in the week from parents, elderly relatives or possibly an old friend. It won’t be pleasant at first, but you can turn it into a positive. Try to stick with creative pursuits over the weekend. Your juices will really be flowing.

The Galaxy Gear 2 smartwatch will feature an hTmL version of the oS, which is understandable, given that Samsung would want more application developers to create apps for the platform. Samsung's showcasing of Tizen devices at mWC, is also in-line with previous rumours. The report states that Samsung's shift to the Tizen oS is a move to counter Google's dominance over the android oS.Tizen was launched by Samsung last year, with the Samsung nx300m camera the first consumer device to run it, but it has had run into problems on the smartphone front since then. The fact that Samsung is still pushing forward, after announcing new partners, shows that it is aggressively trying to develop the platform for their smartphones and other connected devices.

The actual problem is smartphone developers on the android ecosystem is that are majorly dependent on it volume to generate their revenue, via the relatively healthy app ecosystem. Smartphone and tablet manufacturers, apart from apple, have not had success in developing their own oSes and services. Samsung is, understandably, looking at changing this with the Tizen platform, despite the problems faced by it last year. It is not surprising that Samsung too wants a larger chunk of the pie, as it is looking to launch the smartphone with a hTmL-based oS, for developers, so that it may generate revenue from their wearable technology division and from the oS and services provided by it.meanwhile Samsung is scheduled to have an event on 23 February 2014, a day prior to the official kick-off of mWC. The press invite states "Please join the Tizen association Board on Sunday, 23 February 2014 for a welcome reception and kick-off to mWC 2014. During this invite only event, you will get an exclusive sneak preview of the newest Tizen devices as well as an opportunity to learn about the major milestones that the Tizen project has hit since last year's event. We ask you to reserve time from 3-6 Pm CeT on 23 February 2014 at hotel aRTS Barcelona where you will also have the opportunity to hear from and interview Tizen association Board members."

sIX natIons weekend revIewengland beat Ireland to blow championship wide open: england 13 Ireland 10 the six Nations’ Championship will have no Grand slam winner this year, but there may be an english triple Crown.

england ended ireland's bid for a six Nations triple Crown with a 13-10 victory in an enthralling contest at twickenham on saturday.in probably the Championship's most high-intensity game to date, ireland led 10-3 after rob kearney's try in the first minute of the second half and a conversion and penalty from Jonathan sexton. that was in reply to owen Farrell's 24th-minute penalty - the only points of the first half but Farrell's penalty and then a superbly worked try for danny Care - converted by Farrell - earned england the win which means

four teams are locked on two wins apiece after three rounds of the six Nations.ireland was the last unbeaten side in the championship after France fell to Wales on Friday, and was favoured to end a three-match losing run to england with a side with more than twice as many caps, rampant momentum, and added incentive to celebrate Brian o'driscoll's world record-tying 139th test cap.england, ireland, France and Wales remain in contention for the title; england will host Wales at twickenham on sunday 9th March while ireland face italy and scotland go head to head with France both

matches will be held on saturday 8th.Wales 27-6 France: dragons on fire and back in the runningWales showed they are still a major force in this year’s rBs 6 Nations by dominating disappointing France. An opportunist early try from George North followed by a powerful surge from captain sam Warburton in the 63rd minute put Wales’ hopes of a unprecedented treble back on course following their dismal defeat in ireland.underpinned by the accuracy of full-back Leigh Halfpenny, who kicked 17 points through a conversion and five first-half penalty goals, Wales had their weekend complete as they watched england beat undefeated ireland, this ruled out the grand slam and left Wales, France, england and ireland having suffered one defeat each in the first three rounds.it will take more than brute force to beat england this time but not since 1931 had they beaten France by a bigger margin and it was the first time in 42 years that they had won three consecutive championship matches against Les Bleus. the power of Wales' recovery will receive its real test at twickenham, while France will need to show far more to win next time out, even against scotland.

scotland's duncan weir scores last-gasp drop goal to sink Italy: Italy 20-21 scotlandduncan Weir's last-gasp dropped goal lifted scotland over italy 21-20 at stadio olimpico on saturday for its first victory in this year's six Nations.italy led 13-3 at the break with tommaso Allan scoring a try for the hosts.the visitors had more purpose after the restart and Alex dunbar crossed twice in 13 minutes to give scotland a five-point lead with 13 minutes remaining however it was not over, italy hit back immediately courtesy of a converted try by lock Josh Furno, it looked all over for scotland and you could feel the tension around the stadium however the fans were still behind their team all the way till the end, there was literally no time left to salvage a victory and it looked pretty dismal for the fans only for fly-half Weir to clinch the win for scotland with 15 seconds left, the stadium exploded with away with scots not really knowing what had just hit them and the italians were left distraught, they really thought it was all over.it sealed the most dramatic of victories, ending scotland's run of eight consecutive away defeats in the six Nations and bringing the scots their first points of the campaign. defeat left italy winless through three rounds, while scotland earned some redemption in rebounding from a 20-0 home loss to england, regarded as one of its worst displays ever.

liverpOOl edGe SWAnSeA in thrillerLiverpool were at their best and worst in the 4-3 win over swansea on sunday, with their irresistable form going forward - two goals apiece for Jordan Henderson and daniel sturridge took their goal-tally this season to 70 in the league - matched by worrying defensive frailties. Liverpool have tightened their grip on fourth place in the Premier League after daniel sturridge and Jordan Henderson each scored twice in a jittery 4-3 win over swansea City. swansea hit back to level from 2-0 and 3-2 down at Anfield, before Henderson finally killed off their resistance in the 74th minute to take Liverpool back to within four points

of leaders Chelsea. it was a 10th consecutive home league win for Liverpool and gave Brendan rodgers's side a six-point lead over fifth-place tottenham Hotspur. Liverpool needed less than three minutes to take the lead, with sturridge collecting raheem sterling's pass and rounding swansea goalkeeper Michel Vorm to score after Angel rangel had lost possession in midfield. sturridge has now scored in eight consecutive Premier League games and he set up his side's second goal in the 20th minute with a lay-off that was curled home by Henderson.rodgers accepts that the Merseysiders must learn to be tighter but pledged not to curb their free-flowing nature in the process. "i think that's not our style," he said. "i worry always to play good football. i'm not totally satisfied with always grinding out results.up to now we've got away with it. But at times we concede poor goals - it is mistakes or decision making that's costing us.”

NeYMAr: BArCeLoNA PAY £11.2M iN tAX FrAud CAse But deNY oFFeNCe

Barcelona have paid £11.2m (13.5m euros) to the spanish authorities after being charged with tax fraud over the signing of Neymar. However the spanish champions insisted they had not committed any offence. "the aim is to cover eventual interpretations that could be given to the contracts drawn up in the operation to sign Neymar," a club statement read. Barca paid £48.6m for santos striker Neymar, 22, in the summer with his parents receiving £34m of the fee. Last month, sandro rosell resigned as Barcelona president following accusations he misappropriated money. He is also

being investigated but denies any wrongdoing. At the time of the move, Barcelona said they had paid 57m euros (£48.6m) for Neymar but it has been alleged that, if other contracts are taken into account, the actual cost of the player was far greater. And last week a judge in spain ruled there was sufficient evidence against Barcelona to continue investigations into the transfer.there has not yet been any confirmation whether the case will be dropped after Barcelona's payment.Neymar has scored seven goals in 18 league appearances for Barcelona this season, as well as netting three in seven Champions League matches.
