• Goal: Zonta’s service programs reflect and enhance its mission– 100% of local projects focus on women’s and girl’s issues (club

assessments via ZI template)– Coordinate ZI Service Recognition Award, per guidelines– Zonta International Awards are well known in District 12 and promoted by

clubs

• Service Recognition Award– Area Meetings presentation– Two Outreach articles– Kickoff District Project at District Conference

• Promoting ZI Awards & Programs– Amelia Earhart luncheon / Area 3 meeting – Jan., 2015 – recognized 3 AE

Biennial Goal 2: Advocacy

• Goal: District 12 is a leading advocate for the rights of women and girls– District wide training regarding the UN, Beijing+20, Post-2015

Agenda and CEDAW– “Zonta says No to Violence Against Women” continues to be

promoted– Maintain a list of like-minded organizations

• UN, Beijing+20, Post 2015 Agenda & CEDAW– Area Meetings presentation – CSW event in NYC– Outreach article– October 14-16, 2015 – partner with United Nation Association –

Zonta is hosting Leslie Wright, UN International Committee Chair, ZI

• Promoting “Zonta Says No to Violence Against Women”– October, 2014 – Area 3 event – ZSN Art Show – raised over $10,000.– Numerous clubs held Zonta Says No events

Biennial Goal 3: Resource-Membership • Goal: Clubs recruit and retain committed and skilled

members– Add 1 net new member to each club in 2014-2015 and

2015-2016– Form E-Club by end 2015– No clubs disband in District 12 during biennium

• Net+1:– 2015 Goal: 567– 2015 Actual (6/1): 522– 2016 Goal: 588 (currently at 542 members)

• E-Club: Black Hills is sponsoring club & have 10 Zontians so far

• No clubs disbanded

Biennial Goal 4: Resource-Leadership & Development • Goal: Leadership skills and competencies are increased

at all levels– District training plan aligned with ZI Development Committee– Provide training to club officers & members – includes annual

officer/board training– Provide training on Governing documents and operations

manuals

• Officer/Board training:– Completed June/July, 2015– Offer again late October/early November

• Governing documents/operations manuals: Club workshop – “Club Board Reality Show.”

• Additional training planned during Area Meetings – Advocacy topics

Zonta International Service Recognition Award

• Goal: Recognize outstanding service projects by Zonta Clubs and Districts which benefit women in local community– ZI will recognize 6 most outstanding service projects by Clubs and 3

by Districts– Focus:

• Service projects that empower women and girls to achieve equal rights and secure access to all resources

• Service projects focusing on prevention of root causes of violence against women and girls through eduaction

• Club Service Projects: Clubs may nominate in EACH category• District Service Project: District may nominate 1 project in

either category• Timeline:

– Club Projects due to District: December 29, 2015– Winning Club Projects submitted to ZI: February 8, 2016– District projects sent to ZI: February 8, 2016

ZI Service Recognition Award – District Project

• District Project: “Silent Witness”– Focus: Prevention of root causes of violence against women

and girls through education

• Who: All Clubs in District• What: Clubs display silhouettes with stories; present

powerpoint to organizations, handout flyers/bookmarkers with domestic violence local or state information.

• When: October – November, 2015– Submit Club write-up to District by Dec. 29, 2015

• Where: In Local Community• How:

– Contact libraries/state & county locations to display silhouettes – Contact organizations to do PowerPoint presentation– Hand out flyers/bookmarkers with local /state domestic violence
