FWt 32/D1 DistRiCt heating unit: sMaLL, siMPLe, eFFiCientDesign for integration into district heating networks that are operated all year round

FunCtionaL DesCRiPtion:The FWt 32/D1 district heating unit consists of a plate heat exchanger which supplies hot water at a constant temperature of 50 °C using the secondary district heating network. The supply temperature required here is at least 60 °C. As a result of the high efficiency of the system, the return temperature is not greater than 30 °C; under normal circumstances, it will even be less than 20 °C if the incoming cold water is at 10 °C. The heat available is thus used to the maximum extent possible. An unlimited quantity of hot water can be drawn off for a single tap operation, with a flow rate of up to 600 l/h.

After water has been drawn off, the heating circuit is closed again immediately so that no further losses occur. The hot water that remains in the unit is distributed throughout the system with the result that the system quickly cools down to less than 60 °C, thus avoiding the risk of calcification.

ConneCtion ReQuiReMent in the seConDaRY heating CiRCuit:As a consequence of the high permitted pressure difference in the primary heating circuit, it is not necessary to regulate this pressure for the district heating unit. However, if the secondary heating network should make a lower differential pressure necessary, the system can be operated with diffe-rential pressures of more than 200 mbar. If the full amount of water is drawn off and the supply temperature is 60 °C, around 600 l/h are drawn off on the primary side. The heating distribution network must be sized accordingly, taking into account the simultaneity factor. In practice, increases in the scale of the system above that of conventional heating systems are generally not required.

n the austRia eMaiL FWt 32/D1 district heating unit sup-plies an unlimited amount of hot water at a constant tempe-rature of 50 °C.

n the return temperature has a maximum of only 30°C for a supply temperature of 60°C.

n an unlimited quantity of hot water can be drawn off for a single tap operation.

n after water has been drawn off, the system quickly cools down to less than 60°C, thus avoiding the risk of calcifica-tion.

n the FWt 32/D1 district heating unit is specially designed to be maintenance-free.

n the decentralised hot water heating approach minimises heat losses in the secondary heating network. there are no standstill losses.

n the pre-installed piping in the FWt 32/D1 leads to short installation times.

n the self-acting control fittings require no electrical connection.
