TOISA PEGASUSInnovative vessels

Products

For diving operations as well as subsea construction, installation andmaintenance in theNorth Sea and otherlocations worldwide, the customer required a flexible state-of-the-art diving support vessel that could be easilyadaptedtodifferenttasksonthechartermarket.Inordertobeabletoworkindifferentgeographicalregions, theTOISAPEGASUS is large enough to be self-supporting in remoteareas.Tobecosteffective,thedesignisbasedontheversatile22-metrebeamoftheIHCType-22.

AsanenhancedsistershiptotheTOISAPROTEUS,butwitha fully integrated saturationdiving system, it can support a widevarietyofsubseaoperationsworldwide.ThisDP3vesselis capable of meeting high standards in safety, dynamicpositioningoperationsandsaturationdiving.

It is builtwith an integrated 18-person twin-bell saturationsystem. The under-deck configuration allows for a range ofequipment to be installed, while the large clear deck areaprovidesenoughspaceforarangeofotherapplications.

The increasing need for subsea construction vessels toaccommodate large numbers of personnel has also beenaddressed. The vessel can accommodate up to 199 people(excluding any divers in saturation), depending on thecharterer’srequirements.

The SEVEN ATLANTIC has been specifically designed for saturationupto350metresbelowsealevelandfeaturesanintegrated saturation diving system. Suitable forworldwideoperation, she is the highest class DP vessel capable ofoperations in severe weather conditions. In order toenhance the FMEA safety case, the vessel is designedwithfulltriplicationofallDP,propulsionandmanoeuvringrelatedsystemsandsubsystems,whichallowsthevesseltomaintainDP3operationwithasystemorcomponentoutofservice.

The integrated saturated diving system on the SEVEN ATLANTIC has a total capacity of 24 divers: eight divingteamswiththreememberseach.Themaximumcontinuousworking diver capacity is for divers deployedby twodivingbells carrying three divers each. The diving system is designedforoperations indepthsofupto350metres.The vesselhasatotaloffivemoonpools, twoforthedivingbells, two for the observation class ROVs, and one for lowering instrumentsandtoolstotheseabed.

The vessel’s stability significantly reduces dependency onport calls for crew change, and as an example, helicoptercrew changes of 38 personnel have been safely conductedin force seven conditions. She can also operate at ease infully developed sea conditions in excess of 4.5m Hs. With an increasing number of ageing wells and shrinkingreserves, it is becoming more viable and important tomaintain the former and extract the maximum amount ofoil. The requirementwas to develop a state-of-the-artwellinterventionanddivingsupportvessel,suitableforoperationintheNorthSeaaswellasworldwide.

TheWELL ENHANCER is based on the IHC Type-22 design, whichmakes it a cost-effective vessel of high performanceand quality. IHC adapted the design to accommodate a multi-purpose tower (designed and built by Huisman), an 18-person twin-bell saturated diving system and a twin work-class ROV system. She is fitted with coiled tubing andispreparedforupgradingwithaflareboom.

IHC manufactures decompression chambers in all typesof materials and configurations: aluminium, steel, duplex, stationary, mobile or transportable. They have standardtanks, but are by no means limited to one model. Alldecompression chambers can be custom-made to fit theirapplications precisely. Safety and reliability are importantfeatures and IHC is able to build decompression chambersaccording to any standard: Lloyd’s Register, ABS, GL, DNV,IMCAandsoon.

A standard decompression chamber comes with twocompartments: the main chamber and an entry lock. Thechamber is skid-mounted and has large lift ing lugs forincreased mobility. The tank will go wherever the divingoperationislocated.
