Lumberton NC and the Lumberton Youth Baseball Association (LYBA) will host the 2018 Dixie Youth World Series beginning July 27th and running until August 9th. All of the games will be played at the Pennington Athletic Complex off of Hornet Road. Players ranging from 7-12 years old participate in this event. Dixie Youth Baseball encompasses eleven states in the southeast and each state will send representatives here to vie for the World Series Championship. For 2 weeks, Lumberton and LYBA will host 60 teams, 720 players and their families for community based baseball. $10/Day pass, $25/Series pass, children 12 years and under, free.

CHAMBER WELCOMES DIXIE YOUTHThe Lumberton Area Chamber of Commerce is preparing 700 gift bags for players and their families upon their arrival in Lumberton for the Dixie Youth World Series. The Chamber is very excited this event is going to be hosted here in Lumberton and would like to

thank all member businesses that participated. The event will host sixty teams from eleven states including fi ve Lumberton teams who will compete for the right to be the 2018 World Series Champion in Coach Pitch, Pitching Machine, Minors, Majors, and Ozone Divisions. “This is awesome for our City. FAYETTEVILLE WOMAN’S CARE RIBBON CUTTINGFayetteville Woman’s Care held its Ribbon Cutting with the Lumberton Area Chamber of Commerce on Friday, June 22. Drs. Myron Strickland, Shay Davis, Brandt Wood and Christine Booth greeted members of the community to their new location at 588 Bailey Rd. Dr. Strickland spoke on behalf of the practice sharing their goal of providing the residents of Robeson and surrounding counties quality OB/Gyn care. The providers want the residents to be able to seek care right at home. Fayetteville Woman’s Care looks forward to working collaboratively with the other medical providers in the community.
