Moosic Mountain- The Eales Preserve (Lackawanna County) Location: Just outside of Scranton/Wilkes-Barre 2,250 acres contiguous with State Gamelands 300 in Lackawanna County open to public hunting in cooperation with the Pennsylvania Game Commission, DMAP ID #1595, WMU 3B & 3D Directions: The Eales Nature Preserve at Moosic Mountain is located outside of Scranton along Route 247, just south of Jessup Borough in Lackawanna County. From Interstate 81, take Exit #187 for Carbondale/Route 6. Once on Route 6, go just over four miles. Take Exit #3 for Jessup, and travel south on Moosic Lake Road/Route 247 for about two miles. The entrance to the main parking area will be on your left. This property is enrolled in the Deer Management Assistance Program. (DMAP) DMAP is operated by the Pennsylvania Game Commission.
