MBSL investment man-agement service is designed to provide investors a diver-sified range of securities listed on the CSE as well as on fixed income securities such as Treasury bills and bonds according to the investment objectives of the investors.

Since every investor is different, the MBSL Invest-ment Management process is designed to identify indi-vidual needs, and present a portfolio that is appropriate and adaptable to any future changes in circumstances. It has never been more important to plan for future financial security.

However, there are more investment opportunities

available now and hence we have constructed a range of solutions with the aim of providing active ongoing financial management to achieve results and guaran-tee peace of mind to inves-tors.

MBSL Investment Man-agement aims to offer a professional and tailor-made fund management service to investors achieved by: A precise and simple risk analysis assess-ment process that identifies each individual investor’s risk profile and investment requirements, Actively managed investment port-folios that are subject to constant review and due diligence checks, Optional

access to Alternative Invest-ment funds where preferred by the investor and appro-priate within the risk pro-file assessment process, Regular investor risk pro-file assessment and protect-ing the investor and The Manager through detailed reporting when required by the investor.

As clients’ needs change, so will their investment profile; between that of a higher risk, more aggres-sive strategy and a low risk, defensive (less volatile) strategy. Realigning the investment strategy is straightforward – all that required is a consultation and the completion of a risk profile assessment form,

which is then processed by MBSL. The correct invest-ment strategy will always be maintained by regular reviews of the clients’ needs and objectives, based on the risk appetite of the investors. The first consid-eration is the investment time horizon, which is piv-otal to deciding on the degree of risk that can be taken. Here risk is meas-ured as the extent to which a paper (or an actual) loss of value can be tolerated over a given period, and the level of gains the investor ideally wishes to achieve over the life of the invest-ment.

For example, although stock markets have gener-

ally provided greater upside potential over the longer term, there will almost cer-tainly be periods (possibly of several years) when stock markets will fall. Stock market exposure therefore has a lesser alloca-tion in the defensive portfo-lio categories and a higher allocation in the aggressive portfolios.

As an organization MBSL is able to keep these quali-ties intact, leading to a proven track record in the investment arena. The investment team therefore makes its allocation deci-sions objectively, on the merits of asset class, man-ager skill and the client’s chosen risk profile.

Students from the Inte-rior Design Department at Raffles Institute of Higher Education, Colombo, will showcase an Interior Design exhibition inspired by the impact of illumina-tion within a specific envi-ronment relating to space, structure and the relation-ship these elements have with the viewer within the exhibition space.

Interior Design student, Ms. Aleesha Thavarajah, explained that as its name suggests, the central theme will focus on the impact light within a given space to create luminosity using day to day materials. She

stated that the ‘Illuminare’ exhibition will focus on purity, minimalism and the use of geometric forms to capture specific aspects of focused light.

Students at Raffles Insti-tute of Higher Education demonstrate a high level of dedication, maturity and professionalism in their work, where creativity, innovation and attention to

The key success to the Raffles design experience is the dedication of the staff, in particular the international panel of lec-turers who embrace multi-culturalism as an essential component within the

global design environment in the 21st Century, guid-ing, supporting and encouraging students to develop their individual design language.
