GETTING STARTED

CREATING YOUR FIRST PRODUCT

1. Press or to switch to the programming page ( ).

2. Place the cursor over the N field and press to create a new product.

MATERIAL 3. In the Th field, enter the thickness of your sheet. 4. In the Lmat field, enter the bend length.

TOOLS 5. Press while the cursor is on the Punch or Die field to check that the selected tools are correct (or select another punch or die in the list),

then press again.

ANGLE 6. In the field, enter the angle and press . The DNC 402 P calculates automatically the value in the Y and TON fields.

5. In the L field, enter the flange length. 6. Do one of the following:

• Add another bend to your product: press then 1 to copy the bend and go back to step 1.

OR

• Start production: press .

REFINING YOUR BEND

After performing your bend, you may refine it by using the options below.

Press to go back to the programming page ( ).

Measuring your Bend Result To achieve a more accurate bend:

• Measure the resulting angle of your part. Then, enter the measured

value in the mes

field, and press . The DNC 402 P

automatically calculates a correction for Y.

• Measure the flange of your part and calculate the difference between the measured value and the value in L. Then, enter the resulting value in Corr. X.

Backgauge Retraction If you want the backgauge to retract at pinch point, enter the retraction distance in the Rx field. By default, the retraction mode is non precise (for details, see section User Preferences on page 16).

WORKING FASTER

On the programming page ( ), use the following options to work faster.

Repeating the Same Bend If the same bend is repeated several times, enter the number of repetition in the CY field.

Shortening your Cycle To shorten your bending cycle, you may set a top dead center that is lower than the default one (the beam doesn't open fully at each bend). To do so, enter a value in the TDC field in mm.

Note: For convenience, you enter a value in mm, but it doesn't reflect the exact TDC position, as the machine converts it into a time value (used to shorten the cycle).
