Sea-son cket holders have the chance to choose their own choice seats before the individual ckets go on sale in Feb. and will be priced for individual sea ng from $25 for rear balcony -$45 for orchestra VIP center seats. The announcement of the summer concert series had been highly an cipated by the public. Dr. Holland, president of the orchestra states, “We had several de-lays in our announcement this year as we nego ated with various guest artists and the school board. But we feel the wait will be well worth it and this will be the most entertaining season of our orchestra’s history!”

The Jersey Shore Pops 2014 Summer Concert Se-ries will include 4 concerts with a focus on variety en-tertainers from around the United States and Canada

including the following: July 12 at 7:00 p.m.: Mark

Preston of The Le ermanJuly 19 at 7:00 p.m.: Sina-

tra SizzlesAug. 9, at 7:00 p.m.:

Broadway On Tap: Aug. 23 at 7:00 p.m.:

Great Balls Of Fire, Legends of Piano

The series will open at the Middle Township Per-forming Arts Center July 12 at 7:00 p.m. with Mark Preston of The Le ermen. The young man from South Bend began his career as an actor before launch-ing into the musical arena. Preston's unique talent preceded him again, and he was asked twice to join the world famous record-ing group, The Le ermen. With the second invita on, Preston accepted and spent 10 years with the group. During that time, Preston recorded several CDs. The group's most recent re-cording "New Directions 2010" with the Les Brown Jr. Orchestra, was put forward for 3 Grammy Nomina ons. In 2001, Preston's contribu- ons to The Le ermen were

recognized when the group was inducted into the Vo-cal Group Hall Of Fame. The late, great, Tennessee Ernie Ford was right when he spoke of Mark Preston. Today his comment would be "Cock your pistols, there IS no stopping this talented singer"...

Preston's was asked to open for the First Lady of Comedy, Phyllis Diller. "I love to refer to Mark Pres-ton as my protégé", said Ms. Diller. "He has one of the strongest, most beautiful voices I have ever heard. He really gets to an audience. He sings, acts, emotes, is

handsome...everything."Con nuing July 19 at 7:00

p.m., will be Sinatra Sizzles, with a popular mul media tribute event to the great Chairman of the Board. This show will star singing sensa- on Claude Eric, a favorite

with the PAC audiences. The Jersey Shore Pops

conductor Linda Gentille is known as an excellent talent buyer, bringing won-derful international acts to the shore. Once again, she has done that with a group called Two on Tap, a popular singing and dancing Broadway duo. They will star in Broadway on Tap on Aug. 9, at 7:00 p.m. Cel-ebrated performers Melissa Gia no and Ron DeStefano pay tribute to the Great American Songbook and classic Broadway song-and-dance in this fun, lively, and fast-paced show that gets crowds singing and danc-ing along from their seats. Featuring sensa onal new arrangements of standards like “I Got Rhythm” and “Yes Sir, That’s My Baby,” as well as rousing favorites like “Sing, Sing, Sing” and “L-O-V-E,” Two on Tap uses fresh, original choreography to show how classic song-and-dance s ll endures and entertains.

Gen lle is very exci ng to present this new group to make their Jersey Shore debut, as it will appeal to a family audience. Gen lle states, “We are hoping that this show will bring in a young demographic to our shows with students of dance. They will absolutely love this talented duo as they amaze audiences while they sing and dance simulta-neously. This will be our fi rst presenta on of dance in our

5 year series history.” Ending the 2014 Summer

Concert Season will be a show that stars the popu-lar and charismatic music director for the orchestra, Linda Gentille. Aug. 23, 2014 at 7:00 p.m., the pops will present Great Balls Of Fire, Legends of the Piano starring Linda Gen lle. The show features the music from the great piano leg-ends of the last 50 years including Jerry Lee Lewis, Liberace, Roger Williams, Billy Joel, Elton John, Barry Manilow, Stevie Wonder, Fats Waller, Floyd Cramer and Victor Borge. It will in-clude such piano classics as Piano Man, Just the Way You Are, Chops x, Great Balls of Fire, Copacabana, Mandy, Can’t Smile Without You, Crocodile Rock, Your Song, Just the Way You Are, Beer Barrel Polka, This Joint is Jumping , Rhapsody in Blue and of course Great Balls of Fire . This spectacular new Broadway style show will include video clips depic ng the rise to stardom of these great performers. It is a chronological walk through me with these ar sts while

the songs they made fa-mous are performed.

Gen lle musical director and conductor of The Jersey Shore Pops is a popular in-terna onal entertainer and travels the world when not conducting and perform-ing with the popular pops orchestra. She performs 8 months a year on luxury cruise lines, including Prin-cess, Oceania, Celebrity and Royal Caribbean. This is the first show she has performed that brings in more recent piano legends such as Billy Joel and Elton John. Gen lle specializes in American classic and rag- me music.

Gen lle says, ”I love the music of Gershwin and Por-ter, but wanted to develop a show that would also ap-peal to younger audiences. I included the old favorites from Liberace and Roger Williams, but have added music from Billy Joel and Elton John which gives the show a great variety. It is a great family show for music and piano lovers of all ages.”

The Jersey Shore Pops is a big band orchestra with string sec on, modeled a er the orchestras of the Frank Sinatra era which featured a string sec on along with the bid band sounds. The orchestra was founded by entertainer and conductor Linda Gen lle in 2009. The orchestra features 25 of the

Eyes A night of anxious tossing and turning is to be ex-

pected the night before your wedding day. But be sure that your eyes don't reveal signs of a sleepness night. A er waking up, immediately check your eyes for signs of redness. Red eyes do NOT photograph well. Swing by the pharmacy and grab eye drops to keep redness at bay.

LipsIn order to create the perfect lip-

s ck pale e, pre-con-di on lips with a deep moisturizing balm for at least two weeks before the ceremony. Apply three times a day and overnight to ward off dry and fl aky texture, especially in colder winter months. Vitamin C Lip Protec- on can be used under

your favorite lipsticks to nourish lips without fading color.

FaceTo look your best on

your wedding day, you have to start preparing your skin in advance. Check for blemishes, red-ness, dryness and other fl aws. Use good moisturizer and have a couple of facials if needed. Those who decide to go the facial route should have the last session at least one week prior to the wedding, so all possible redness has ample me to fade. If you have a more serious condi on, consult a dermatologist weeks in advance.

Make sure your makeup looks light and natural. Bridal makeup should have a "classic" touch to it. Avoid trendy looks like the "smoky eye" or bold colors as they will look dated a few years from now. Heavy founda on will start cracking in a couple of hours. Make sure you or your

makeup ar st use only light and "breathable" kind of founda on.

HairHaving the perfect bridal hairstyle really does depend on

the hair rela onship you have with your stylist - this is such a key part of looking good, and feeling good on your big day. Make sure you have regular appointments so

your hairdresser knows your hair, knows your face shape, knows that (for example) when you’re blow-drying it you need extra volume on your crown or you need width at the side.

A wedding hair trial allows experienced stylists to familiar-ize themselves with such hair needs. The trial is absolutely key. At Ambiance Salon & Spa, specialists work hard to create unforgettable beauty for the most memorable event of your life me. Consult Ambiance re-garding your trial and designs for your en re bridal party and these stylists will personally contact you in regards to the number of individuals and the types of services you and your group will be reques ng for this special day. Be prepared

with answers to the following ques ons:

1. Total number and names of those who will be request-ing salon services.

2. Will each person need a shampoo & blow dry or an up-do service?

3. Will anyone in your party be reques ng a make-up service?

4. Would you like a consulta on or a trial service before the wedding day?

5. Will you or anyone in your group need any pre-wedding services?

Try to avoid holiday weekends, and take your guests’ work schedules into account. It may be a good idea to host your party on a Friday or Saturday evening when people are less likely to have other obliga ons.

Your winter cocktail party should feel cozy and invi ng. Add seasonal accents related to snowmen, snowfl akes, icicles, and other cold weather related items.

A chili bar is an excellent choice for food setup. Not only does the chili warm guests up, but it also provides a hearty base meal for those looking to have a few cocktails. Plus, chili can be done a number of ways. Prepare several hotdogs and plate them on buns for partygoers to create their very own chili dogs. Boil a box of pasta so that guests may top it with the chili and shredded cheese. Next, throw a few batches of frozen French fries in the oven and add

Powdered donuts give off that "fresh snow" appearance and are a cheap and easy grab at the grocery store. Bake a tray of homemade sugar snowman cookies to give your party a personal touch. Place two balls of dough next to each other on the tray so that they are lightly touching. They will bake together, giving each double cookie the body of a snowman. Decorate each snowman with vanilla icing and candy eyes.

The selec on of cocktails will be up to you, but it is a good idea to have a well-stocked bar with spirits, wine,

beer, and one or two seasonally-themed drinks. Spiked eggnog, mulled wine, warm apple cider,

and bu ered rum are all examples of seasonal alcoholic beverages.

You may want to prepare a large punch bowl full of one of these beverages. Be sure to

have more than enough glasses in case guests want to sample mul ple

drinks. Happy hos ng!

Endorphins trigger a posi ve feeling in the body, comparable to that of morphine. This brief sense of eu-phoria, be er known as "runner's high", can also be ac-companied by a more posi ve outlook on life. This boost of posi vity wards off any symptoms of seasonal depression that may be creeping in.

Amazingly, endorphins also act as analgesics, meaning they diminish an individual's percep on of pain. They have also been proven to act as seda ves in some cases, lending a sense of calm to frequent exercisers. Last but certainly not least, exercise boosts self-esteem and improves self-image. Get moving now and you can look forward to a serious boost in confi dence just in me for skin-baring summer a re. What be er me to work on the coveted "beach body" than the cold, winter months when you can s ll enjoy the luxury of covering up?
