Dicho esto, me gustaría compartir con ustedes las muchas cosas que estamos haciendo

en lugar de nuestro festival. La primera es que todavía tenemos nuestra rifa parroquial

"Compre localmente, apoye localmente". Tendremos los resultados del Concurso Reina y

Rey el día del festival en la misa de las 11 AM. Se anima a todos los concursantes,

organizaciones parroquiales y feligreses a vender boletos. Para aquellos que tenían

puestos, les recomendamos que vendan boletos para compensar lo que normalmente

hubieran podido recaudar para San Roberto. Esta será nuestra recaudación de fondos

más grande del año y esperamos poder compensar algunas de nuestras pérdidas a través

con sus nombres para agradecer a nuestros seguidores de la subasta por sus generosas

contribuciones. Estos ladrillos también estarán disponibles para que los compren nues-

tros feligreses y se usarán en la banqueta de Casa San Roberto.

Tenemos muchas formas creativas en las que estamos lidiando con el Coronavirus y si

tiene alguna otra idea o le gustaría hacer alguna otra recaudación de fondos para la

parroquia, hágamelo saber. Vivimos en una época en la que podemos ser muy creativos,

Dear Parishioners,

Several weeks ago we had a festival meeting with the leaders of the festival and

collectively decided that it is best to cancel the festival for this year. We are simply not

in a position to have large crowds in one area due to COVID.

That being said, I would like to share with you the many things we are doing in place

of our festival. The first is that we are still having our parish raffle "Shop Local, Support

Local." We will have the Queen and King Contest results on the day of the festival at

the 11 AM mass. All contestants, parish organizations, and parishioners are

encouraged to sell tickets. For those who had booths, we encourage you to sell tickets

to make up for what you would have usually been able to raise for St. Robert's. This

will be our largest fundraiser for the year and hopefully we can make up some of our

losses through this raffle. I've already sold over 100 tickets myself! Just talk to Lupe

Rosas at 979-320-7892 for tickets. You can buy tickets on our website at https://

sanrobertochurch.org/raffle-tickets . Please make sure you put your phone number

and the seller's name when you buy your tickets on-line. Our goal for the raffle is

$30,000. Last year we met our goal of $20,000 and it was our first year! I am sure we

can meet our goal this year.

Another creative thing we are doing is that the Grupo de Oración will have a tamale

sale! This will be in place of the awesome gorditas that are always so popular at the

festival. We are also looking into selling briskets or brisket by the pound. These items

will take the place of our food income. If you have other ideas, like bake sales or other

drive-thru meals, please let us know! In the upcoming months I will have a peach

cobbler sale and make them personally for those who want to buy one.

As far as the auction is concerned, Adrian and I will be personally calling those who

have donated in the past and ask for their continued support. We will have engraved

sidewalk bricks with their names to offer our auction supporters in thanks for their

generous contributions. These bricks will also be available for purchase by our

parishioners and will be used at the sidewalk at Casa San Roberto.

We have a lot of creative ways we are dealing with the Coronavirus and if you have

any other ideas or would like to do any other fundraisers for the parish, please let me

know. We live in a time when we can be very creative, so let your creativity flow for the

glory of God!
