The course is designed to give candidates preparing for PACES a head start to revision, with focus on perfecting their examination technique as well as presentation and communication skills. The emphasis during this course was to equip the candidates with the correct method and strategy to pass the exam through observation of their technique and correction of faults.
Day 1 of the course focused on the clinical examination stations (cardiovascular, respiratory, abdominal, and neurological systems) as well as Station 5. After brief lectures covering Station 5 and general strategies to pass the exam, the candidates rotated through the clinical stations in small groups.
Day 2 of the course focused on History and Communication skills (Stations 2 and 4). Brief lectures were given to cover general aspects of history taking and communication scenarios, after which the candidates rotated through the different stations in small groups.
A total of 20 candidates attended the course. They enjoyed and benefited from the course, which is reflected in the feedback collated and summarised in the subsequent pages.

Well run course. Good mix of exam practice and chance to see a variety of signs. Faculty all knowledge-able with most having relatively recent experience of sitting PACES which I felt was of benefit.
