SAP Note Header Data Symptom When you try to convert a planned order into a production order, the system displays error message CO684: 'You cannot make an assignment to make-to-order stock'. The check of the automatically created settlement rule determines an error (Example: for production orders with make-to-order production, the system is to create a settlement rule to a sales order as recipient; however, component 'sales order' is not active in Customizing of the controlling area). Due to a program error the system does not display the actual error message. Instead, the system displays message CO684 as followup error. This error may occur after implementing Note 307059 and Note 317715. Solution When you implement the program correction attached to the note, the system displays the correct error message in the check of the settlement rule if an error occurs. Before the implementation of Note 317715 it was possible that error messages were not displayed from the check of the settlement rule. According to the constellation, the system even updated incorrect settlement rules. After the implementation of Note 317715, this is no longer possible. When you implement this note, the system displays the correct error message. In individual cases, you must use the long text of this error message in order to eliminate the cause for the error.
