NARRATIVE VOICE OVER (NARRATOR)

This leads the audience into a preferred reading. We felt a voice over on our documentary would make it more effective because we thought it would help blend the different clips from interviews and footage together, so it works better in chronological sense, and follows better as a story.

We would also like to combine narration with the use of a presenter, who is enthusiastic about our story we would like to tell. This can help the audience gather more interested and intrigued by our documentary.

ARCHIVE FOOTAGE

The use of archive footage could be vital in our documentary as we will need it to show past moments from the club alongside interviews and our presenter, to help visualize our story, as well as expressing the interviewees thoughts, feelings and reactions on each piece of footage.

INTERVIEWS WITH CLUB MEMBERS AND COMMUNITY

Interviews would be great in our documentary, we agreed from the beginning the only way to create an effective documentary would be to have interviews with the club and community. Instead of vox pops we knew we would have to try and find members such as past players and executives who are more popular and well known to interview about our story.

HAND HELD CAMERAWORK

A hand held camera in documentaries creates a sense of realism. In our documentary a handheld camera might produce an effect we don't really need, for example if we film interviews or shots of the stadium and certain locations, it might not look high quality. But we could use it if we was to track our presenter in a tracking shot, making sure it was smooth.

However, if we were to make a documentary of ourselves making our production, a handheld camera would be a good way to film this.

ESTABLISHING AND CLOSE UP SHOTS.

These shots are key to allow the audience to get to know our story better. If we got plenty of establishing shots of the locations known by the club and close ups of important details in these locations like monuments, and in interviews to follow the most common documentary style.

PARALLEL EDITING, SELECTIVE EDITING, INTERCUTTING, LINKING KEY SCENES TOGETHER.

Different editing styles are key to having our product look professional. We knew we had to use Adobe Premiere well to be able to edit our documentary together with just raw footage and learning how to use it. Overlapping audio with video and selective editing is something that is crucial to our documentary.
