1. SCOPE
1.1 General. This dash-numbered part of the Automated Engineering DocumentPreparatlon System (AEDPS), provides detai1ed requirements for the Prepara-tion of Mi1itary Specification Exception (MSE) documentation for Fasteners.
1.2 Purpose. This military standard provides the necessary information toprepare a Specification Requirement Sheet (SRS) which wil1 be used togenerate an MSE by automated data processing.
1.3 Utilization. General instructions, quality assurance provisions,packaging, and notes, applicable to al1 AEDPS dash-numbered parts have beenincluded in the basic document (DOD-STD-35) to avoid redundancy. Unlessotherwise specified in this dash-numbered part, the following 1ist containsadditional subjects that are applicable to al1 AEDPS dash-numbered parts andare included in DOD-STD-35:
a. Writing Methodologyb. Document and Part Numberingc. Applicable Documentsd. Single and Multi-item Specifications (Tabulation)e. Keyword Code Index (KCI )f. General Requirements of AEDPS
1.4 Military Specification Exception Title Index. It is recommended thatMIL-STD-1515, Fasteners Used in the Design and Construction of AerospaceSystems, and MIL-STD-1754, Fastening Devices Preferred For Design, Listingof, be reviewed prior to using this dash-numbered part book.
The title code for an MSE shall be selected from one of the MSE titleslisted in the Title Index (see table I). Data bases have been establishedfor the generation of MSE’S for the MSE titles indicated. If a suitabletitle code is not contained in the Title Index, leave the title code spaceson the SRS blank, and attach a request for the assignment of a title code.Include in the request the desired title and the base document identifier.A code wil1 be assigned and the code, title, and base document wil 1 be madea part of the Title Index.
One of the six-digit codes listed in the TitleSRS, will specify that the title of the MSE will beTitle Index.
