Heads of divisions and supervisors meet with their sub- ordinates, discuss DoE priorities and KRAs, assign tasks, issue SPA and individual officers complete the SPA form. 04 PEAs and inspectors for Provincial Institutions prepare for teachers’ resumption on January 25. 04-08 MPR is printed and delivered to the Director for Provincial Support Services to dispatch to respective provinces. Ap- pointment officers begin updating the MPR using 2021 staff postings and correct any anomalies in their provinces. 11-15 Budget Review: 2020 4th Quarter Review documents forwarded to Budget Branch. 18-22 PEAs and all Supervisory Staff commence 2 weeks program of quick visits to accessible institutions to sort out administrative or professional problems. Inspectors assist provinces with Start Of School Year (SOSY) related activities. 25-29 Term 1 begins for teachers on January 25. Principals, Head Teachers (HT), Vocational Centre Managers devote a week to sort out enrolments with governing bodies and teachers devote this week to prepare for a full day of teaching on Monday, February 01. (PNGEI, PTCs, BCs see TED and TVETD circulars). 25-29 Teachers complete the Resumption of Duty Summary Sheets (RoDSS). Teachers in new positions must complete Form EDB023. Principals, HT, VC Managers and AS for respective national institutions to forward RoDSS & EDB023 immediately to PEAs. 29 All PEAs & AS ensure RoDSS from all schools and Form EDB023 for new appointments are checked, signed and submitted to PDoE & NDoE on a DAILY BASIS when received from schools. FEBRUARY PLAN 01 All schools begin Term 1. Vocational Centers – Head Teachers, Principals, and Vocational Centre Managers to ensure that all teachers commence a full day’s of teaching from today. 01–05 National School Census Forms delivered to all PEAs in the provinces. 01–05 Institutional Heads send special enrolment and staffing reports to provide an update of Student Numbers and Staffing needs for current and next year to all Superintendents for Elementary, Primary, Secondary and GES. Managers of VC send reports to Supt. VSS TVETD. Copy to PEA. 01–05 All HT, Principals, PHS, SS, NHS send special enrolment and staffing reports to provide an update of student numbers and staffing needs for current and next year to all Superintendents for Elementary, Primary, Secondary and GES. Managers of VC send reports to Supt. VSS TVETD. Copy to PEO. 01-26 Submission of Applications for NDoE and donor sponsored courses for 2021. Teachers and public servants interested in training and seeking NDoE sponsorship need to apply to HROD following set processes and procedures. 01-26 Officers due for recreation leave this year to apply using the MyLeavefare Application. HROD to assess, verify and recommend approval. Division heads and Operations Managers to discuss with individual officers due for leave and draw up a Leave Schedule. 04 All TV and radio programs on education commence. This include EMTV, NBCTV and NBC Radio 05 Provinces submit 2021 Staff Positing Lists to GESD, Payroll & TSC. MARCH PLAN 01 Institutional Heads to complete and submit Monthly Staffing Returns for February to PDOE and NDOE GESD. 01-05 Application Forms for Personal Inspections dispatched to all TVET institutions. 01-31 HROD Submits Training Bid on DoE/Public Category for Donor Sponsorship to DPM. Applications approved by Executive Development Committee (EDC) for Donor Sponsorship via Public Category mid 2021 is coordinated and forwarded to DPM. 12 Last Pay Day for Teachers whose RoDSS forms and EDB023 have not been received at PDoE & NDoE. 22 TSC cancellation of tenure forms due at TSC from PEAs. DoE divisions closing date for Education Ministry Awards: Nominations from Provincial and DoE Awards Committee TSC/DoE of any teacher who has served for 40 years must be nominated. 25-26 NEB Meeting No. 211 26 NDoE Training Bid Forms to be submitted to DPM. 31 Deadline to apply for registration of new schools/amendments for 2022. PEAs send DoE Form EDA212 ‘Application for Membership/Amendment to registration information to Registrar- School Registration Section, GESD. 31 Application for new Permitted Schools for 2022 due at DoE: Registrar School Registration Section, GESD. APRIL PLAN 01 Institutional Heads to complete and forward Monthly Staffing Returns for March to PDoE and GESD, NDoE. 1-30 Screening of Applications for DoE/Donor Sponsorship for both short and long term training/ courses in country and overseas. (Staff Development Committee & Executive Development Committee) meets and screens applications and makes recommendations and notifies concerned officers. 05-09 SBC Cluster Training 05-09 Preparations and compilations begin for 2021 Adver tised Vacancy Gazette. Gazette is printed and distributed to schools before May 18. 09 Term 1 ends for all schools and vocational centers, PNGEI, PTCs, TCs and business colleges. Institutional Heads check, sign and forward to appropriate PEO or NDOE AS (NI) at earliest opportunity. 23 Non-citizen teachers due for 2021 contract renewals. 23 TED Application for Personal Inspections due. 26-30 Joint National Ratings Conference. 26-30 Closing date for applications for personal reports for all sectors. 31 Heads of institutions from elementary to high/secondary, NHS & FODE to forward quarterly students returns to GESD. MAY PLAN 03 Institutional Heads to complete and forward Monthly Staffing Returns for April to PDoE and GESD, NDoE. 03-07 Issue and release of Teachers’ Eligibility Certificates by GESD and Registration Certificate by TED 03-31 Notification of the outcome of EDC/SDC decisions (successful / unsuccessful) for Sponsorship for courses is delivered to individuals. 10-14 Screening of Applications for Personal Reports for all sectors 14 Payment of SDC sponsored students in our institutions. 14 Closing date for Teachers Furlough Leave Applications 21 Advertised Vacancy Gazette released to Provinces for teachers to apply for positions. Deadline for all TSC forms 28, 29 & 30 to reach Appointment Officer at the Provincial Education Office is July 30. 21 All NIST/PIST funding application due from the provinces to TED. 21 Issue of Notification through Application Slips to successful applicants for personal inspections. 21 Deadline for all PEA and DoE AS to advise TSC/AS HROD of full details of 2021 overseas recruitment requirements. 24-28 Processing of EDA 212 and approvals by TSC for creation, abolition or reclassification of positions for 2021 schools. 28 All PEAs prepare list of Activities for National Education Week Agenda items for PEB. JUNE PLAN 01 Institutional Heads to complete and forward Monthly Staffing Returns for May to PDoE and GESD, NDoE. 01 TTCs & IERCs inspection commences. 03 Written Expression Examination (Grade 10) 01-30 Submission of first part of Staff Performance Appraisal 2021 to HROD. Respective Divisional Heads and Supervisors are to appraise their subordinates. Keep originals and forward in batch copies of SPAs to HROD as required. 03-30 2nd Part of Staff Performance Appraisal 2021. Divisional Heads with Supervisors and their subordinates are to revisit DoE and division’s Key Priority Areas (KRAs) assigned in January. JANUARY PLAN

01 NEW YEAR’S DAY

04-29 2021 First Staff Performance Appraisal (SPA) commences. Heads of divisions and supervisors meet with their sub-ordinates, discuss DoE priorities and KRAs, assign tasks, issue SPA and individual officers complete the SPA form.

04 PEAs and inspectors for Provincial Institutions prepare for teachers’ resumption on January 25.

04-08 MPR is printed and delivered to the Director for Provincial Support Services to dispatch to respective provinces. Ap-pointment officers begin updating the MPR using 2021 staff postings and correct any anomalies in their provinces.

11-15 Budget Review: 2020 4th Quarter Review documents forwarded to Budget Branch.

18-22 PEAs and all Supervisory Staff commence 2 weeks program of quick visits to accessible institutions to sort out administrative or professional problems. Inspectors assist provinces with Start Of School Year (SOSY) related activities.

25-29 Term 1 begins for teachers on January 25. Principals, Head Teachers (HT), Vocational Centre Managers devote a week to sort out enrolments with governing bodies and teachers devote this week to prepare for a full day of teaching on Monday, February 01. (PNGEI, PTCs, BCs see TED and TVETD circulars).

25-29 Teachers complete the Resumption of Duty Summary Sheets (RoDSS). Teachers in new positions must complete Form EDB023. Principals, HT, VC Managers and AS for respective national institutions to forward RoDSS & EDB023 immediately to PEAs.

29 All PEAs & AS ensure RoDSS from all schools and Form EDB023 for new appointments are checked, signed and submitted to PDoE & NDoE on a DAILY BASIS when received from schools.

FEBRUARY PLAN

01 All schools begin Term 1. Vocational Centers – Head Teachers, Principals, and Vocational Centre Managers to ensure that all teachers commence a full day’s of teaching from today.

01–05 National School Census Forms delivered to all PEAs in the provinces.

01–05 Institutional Heads send special enrolment and staffing reports to provide an update of Student Numbers and Staffing needs for current and next year to all Superintendents for Elementary, Primary, Secondary and GES. Managers of VC send reports to Supt. VSS TVETD. Copy to PEA.
