    DOJANG RULES DOJANG ETIQUETTEThe Following is prohibited in the Dojang:Unsupervised trainingProfanity, loss of temper, arguing or talking backHorseplay, running, excessive laughing and loud talking

    Laying down, or leaning against the walls

    Students must obtain permission from their MasterInstructor before entering competitions ordemonstrations.

    Never face the flags, your instructor, or the Black Belts

    when fixing your belt or uniform.

    Never interrupt your instructor, unless there is an

    emergency.

    Once students have lined up, wait at attention in thedoorway for permission from the Instructor to enter.

    Ask for permission before entering the Dojang or using

    school equipment.

    Always bow to the flags upon entering and exiting thetraining area.

    When class officially begins students should line upaccording to rank. Highest ranking to the front rightfacing the Instructor.

    No shoes are to be worn in the training area.

    No food or drink allowed in Dojang (eating, drinking orsmoking is not permitted at anytime while in uniform)

    Advanced students must set good examples at all times.

    Be courteous to your instructor and fellow students.

    Bow to Black Belts and other high ranking studentswhen entering and leaving the studio.

    Always answer: Yes Maam or Yes Sir.

    Address all Leadership Team Members as "Sir" or"Ma'am".

    When you approach your instructor or students of ahigher rank, bow first, and then politely ask your

    question.

    Observe and listen when the instructor speaks orexplains a technique to someone. This information willoften help you improve your own techniques.

    Students should never ask to learn advanced techniqueor the pattern.

    Do your best to be on time for class!

    During class respect and discipline must be maintainedat all times. Remember the chain of command of rank(senior grade to junior grade) must be followed at all

    times.

    Respect should be shown to your training partner(regardless of their rank) at the start and finish of anexercise.

    Belts should be tied (equal ends / stripe on the righthand side) and always worn with your uniform.

    Long hair should be tied up and firmly secured. Fingerand toenails should be clean and trimmed. Payattention to personal hygiene (use deodorant).

    Do not leave class early without permission from theInstructor.

    The Studio should be kept clean at all times; juniorstudents should (without being asked) help maintain

    the appearance of the studio.

    Remember that rank advancement will be awarded at thediscretion of the Master Instructors. Your attitude andcommitment to doing your best play a very important rolein rank advancement.
