  • The goal is to inform people about the dolphin slaughter and find a way to stop it

  • 20,000 dolphins are killed each year in Taiji Japan, only to be sold to water parks and aquariums for their meat and bones.

  • The Cove is a small watered area where most dolphin slaughter takes place. Its filled with nets to prevent dolphins from escaping. The Coves waters turn a murky red around because of all of the stabbings.

  • Fishermen heard dolphins into the Cove by slipping large metal poles into the water. Which make a noise that dolphins are sensitive to. As the dolphins are trying to escape the noise little do they know that they are being herded into the Cove. When they are herded into the Cove they are stabbed to death. The dolphins are then are loaded in to boats and shipped off to warehouses to be sold.

  • This problem happens because Japan wants dolphins for their meat, bones, and to be used for live stock.

  • The slaughter of dolphins starts from early September until March each year. The Coves water are often a murky red this time of year because of all of the dolphin slaughter.

  • Dolphin slaughter is still accruing in the world today.

  • A kid friendly way to take action is to e-mail or write a letter to the government of Japan. Also you could buy the movie The Cove and educate yourself and others.www.savethedolphins.org
