Whenever a child can stay in their home country, it preserves the child’s cultural ties and helps reduce their level of trauma. Because of this, Buckner

is helping educate and facilitate adoptions of Kenyan children to Kenyan families. Buckner staff in Kenya has taken the lead in the national adoption initiative to help change the perception of foster care, kinship care and adoption in Kenya. Buckner facilitated 43 in-country adoptions in 2019, a record number for Buckner Kenya.
