Work Experience

[Nov 2014 – Ongoing] General Assistant Tesco

Main duties performed: Replenishment of stock, carrying out daily routines such as price reductions of stock and recording of damaged and out of date stock. Helping customers with any queries and assissting on the tills. Skills which I have developed whilst working in Tesco are

working effectively in a small team and leadership. I have demonstrated these skills when in the role of acting manager. I was required to organise the department by distributing job roles amongst the team and by doing this the work load is managble for each person and the department runs smoothly.

[Aug 2012 – Mar 2013, Oct 2014 – July 2015] Cafe Assistant YMCA Gymnastics Club

Main duties performed: Making and serving refreshments for customers, interacting with customers, being responsible for the handling of money. This job allowed me to develop my skills in customer service and build positive relationships with staff and customers.

Achievements

My work was selected for the LJMU Design Show – The work which was chosen for the show was two of my CAD posters; a persuasive rendered poster for my scooter design and a technical assembly drawing of an existing scooter which I created using SolidWorks. Industry partners of the university, members of many engineering and design companies attended the show as well as faculty staff – it was a great opportunity to discuss my work with these representatives.

Design Ambassador for Product Design A-Level Course – This role involved me promoting the course to potential students on open days.

Duke of Edinburgh Bronze award.

Enrichment program which involved 50 hours of volunteering with my high school badminton club.

Hobbies and Interests

I consider myself to be an active and outgoing person. One of my favourite hobbies is football, both as a supporter and most of all playing. I have been involved in a 5-aside football team for three years. It is allows me to stay fit and promotes valuable skills such as leadership and teamwork.

I am also passionate about travelling. Over the past two years I have travelled around Europe and Southeast Asia. The experience allowed me to become more independent - it also resulted in me meeting new and fascinating people and places. I still intend to travel to a lot more places around the world.
