BETWEEN - Fashion Meets the Region Fashion ExhibitionThe inter-cultural fashion exhibition at the Institute of Contemporary Arts, in Singapore from 7 Janu-ary to 14 January 2013 was conceptualized by Hongik University, South Korea and Lasalle College of the Arts, Singapore. It showcased about 60 designers from Hongik University’s Fashion Masters and PhD programmes alongside 17 of Singapore’s top young designers. Donovan was the core of the team as he was the only one who spoke both Korean and English. Involved from the preliminary meetings in Seoul, Donovan co-ordinated and curated the exhibition.

Visualizing: The Value of the CityMixed Media Art ExhibitionThis mixed media art exhibition was held at Earl lu Gallery at the Lasalle College of the Arts from the 18th to 22nd of February 2013. It showcased installations designed by media, interior, product and fashion designers from both Sangmyung University and Lasalle College of the Arts. This exibition is the product of crossing cultures and fields of design with the respective cities, Seoul and Singapore as the main concept. Donovan participated in this exhibition in a team with Korean and Singaporean designers.

GAJAThe Original K-pop Party in SingaporeGAJA was founded and organized from December 2011 to March 2013 by Donovan Auyong. It is the first weekly K-pop themed thursday night event in Singapore. Its purpose was to create a plat-form where Singaporeans could enjoy K-pop and mingle with the Korean community in Singapore. GAJA was well received by the local crowd and obtained wide coverage from local and internation-al media. GAJA featured artistes like Beatburger from SM Entertainment and held after-concert events (ie. Brian Joo). GAJA also collaborated with SMTOWN and Universal Music through inter-promotions. As an advocate of providing opportunities to talents, GAJA also was a platform for local talents to showcase their K-pop dances or songs.

Beautiful Japan DenimJapanese Denim Brand Fashion ShowBeautiful Japan Denim was a showcase jointly organized by Jrunway and Okayama Fashion Project in Singapore on the 18th of January 2013. This event showcased Japanese denim brands at Jrun-way, a Japanese multi-label store in Singapore. Donovan was the show producer of this event.

Tokyo Fashion NightBarkinStyle Japanese Fashion Show in SingaporeTokyo Fashion Night was an event showcasing Japanese models and talent from BarkinStyle agency in Japan. Donovan was the coordinator of this event.

K-pop Heal the WorldK-pop Concert @ Singapore ExpoK--pop Heal the World was a concert co-organized by Donovan on the 4th of June 2011. It was one of Singapore’s premier K-pop concerts which eventually led to the Hallyu wave throughout Singa-pore. The concert featured top idol groups such as MBLAQ, T-ARA, Afterschool, Orange Caramel and TMAX. Donovan’s primary role was to market the event among the local Korean communities and manage the press conferences and fan meetings. The event was a full house with 8000pax.

Skin IncBranding ProjectDonovan teamed up with the founder of Skin Inc from October 2009 to June 2010. As Brand Manag-er, Donovan shaped the foundations of the would-be global brand. Donovan managed the brand direction, visuals and collaterals of the brand. Skin Inc had 3 outlets in Singapore in 2009, and it now has outlets across 7 countries.

Intrigue VisualsCreative Studio Start-upDonovan founded Intrigue Visuals in August 2007 and operated it until March 2010. As creative director of a small agency and production house, Donovan had the additional roles of art director and producer. While servicing mainly corporate clients, Donovan also pursued his passions in Fash-ion Media.

Youth EntrepreneurshipCreation of new markets through youth eventsDonovan and his partners were featured in the Sunday Times, Life Section, end 2007. He had creat-ed a blue ocean of opportunities doing nightlife events for the under 18s. Donovan was the first mover in this industry and thus reaped the benefits, allowing for greater sucesses through support-ing other young entrepreneurs in the events industry.
