Speaker Producer of the viral animation video “Success in the New
Economy” and author of the bestseller, “(Re)Defining the Goal,”
Dr. Fleming is a passionate advocate for ensuring all students
enter the labor market with a competitive advantage. He currently
supports over 40 Career & Technical Education programs as a Dean of
Instruction at Norco College (part of Riverside Community College
District, California) and serves as vice president for the California
Community College Association for Occupational Education.
Dr. Fleming’s inspiring presentation entitled “Asking the Right
Questions to Facilitate Student Success” discusses new paradigms
and tangible discussion prompts to help all students gain a
competitive advantage. Technical skills are the new currency in
the 21st century, but how do we balance preparing students for
both higher education and the workforce? Dr. Fleming will make
a clear case for students to explore career choices early, make
informed decisions when declaring their college education goals,
and consider technical skill acquisition and real-world application
in tandem with a general education. Finally, his new video will both
invigorate and challenge the evolution of Career Readiness.
