When: Friday, May 15 th and Saturday May 16 th 2020 Where: Door County Scottie Rally Headquarters 2540 Juniper Ridge Road, PO Box 337 Baileys Harbor, WI 54202 Directions: www.doorcountyscottierally.com Questions? email:[email protected] or call (920) 493-5664 EARLY BIRD REGISTRATION DISCOUNT ENDS MARCH 15 th ! ON-LINE REGISTRATION IS THE PREFERRED. On-line registration saves the Rally HOURS of volunteer time and allows you to secure your reservation immediately and receive confirmation of registration. (Online-registration can, if you prefer, be paid by check, but your registration is not confirmed until your check is received.) Online-registration also gives you the best choice from limited appointment times for the self-scheduled optional events (ultrasound, training consult, pet psychic) and best choice of volunteer times and duties, should you agree to volunteer. IF YOU CHOOSE TO REGISTER BY PAPER, simply fill it out and mail it in with your payment. Please note: confirmation will not be sent for paper registration, so add tracking if you want to know for sure your registration forms and check reached us. You will receive notice from us only if there is a problem with your registration. Once you are registered, a link will be provided no later than April 1 st to access available time slots for any optional self-scheduled events you’ve chosen (ultrasound, training consult and pet psychic) and for time slots and duty choices if you’ve offered to serve as a Rally volunteer. YOUR REGISTRATION FEE INCLUDES dinner (Friday), continental breakfast and lunch (Saturday), dog treats, beverages (including bottled water, coffee/tea), free parking, shuttle transportation and 1.5 days of exciting programming! Administrative expenses include rentals (large tents, tables, a limited number of chairs, outdoor commodes, printing, transportation shuttles), sheriff support for the Parade of Scots, the contract for the Clan Donald Pipe & Drums, maintenance of the DCSR golf cart, hay wagon, public address system as well as the cost of event liability insurance. Additional year-round costs include shipping/postage, limited advertising and website maintenance. We are a 100% volunteer-based, not-for-profit organization and pay no wages or salaries. WHERE THE FUNDRAISING COMES IN Our ability to raise money is dependent upon everyone’s financial abilities—and any way you can help is pawsome! We appreciate your shopping, bidding and perhaps “rounding up” your total before signing your check or charge amount. Fundraising is primarily dependent upon your bidding on the Silent Auction items, participating in LIVE Auction bidding, and purchasing Optional Event tickets, exclusive DCSR apparel, and of course donations. We try our best to be good fiscal stewards of our funds and therefore exclude commercial vendors and exhibitors at the Rally to ensure 100% of any proceeds support our mission. SAFETY FOR OUR SCOTS and OTHER GUESTS Since there will be over 150 Scotties in attendance, there will be ABSOLUTELY no flexi or retractable leashes allowed—please plan accordingly. Maximum leash length is 6 feet, however you must keep your dog in control and leashed at all times. We strongly advise containing your Scot(s) in a crate or exercise pen at all “down” times. If you suspect that your dog may be aggressive, common sense dictates: o placement of your pet(s) in an exercise pen upon your arrival—it is very easy to get distracted in a conversation, and we know you want the safety of your Scot(s) to be top priority; o use of a light muzzle when your Scot is NOT contained; and/or o maintaining a safe distance (more than 3 feet) AT ALL TIMES from other guests, particularly during the Parade of Scots We appreciate your recognition of your individual responsibility to keep your Scot(s) safe so that everyone may fully enjoy the day.

  • DONATING ITEMS If you’re considering downsizing your collection the Door County Scottie Rally welcomes donations of unbroken vintage and collectible Scottie items year-round. Please also think of the Rally as you shop year-round or receive duplicate gift items. If possible, please deliver or ship your auction item(s) to us ahead of time (please include your name and address, retail value and if you desire a receipt), or deliver as soon as possible—prior to your lodging check-in for the Rally. Prior to Rally grounds opening on 5/15 at 1:30 p.m. donation drop-off of items can be made at the entrance to Scottie Rally Headquarters. You will receive a receipt for your donation at that time. The decision of when to include your donation for fundraising—at the Rally or perhaps in an on-line Facebook Auction—will be at the discretion of our Auction/Shoppe Coordinators. Please know that excluding used clothing, we value every donation you bring to us! The Door County Scottie Rally, Inc., is a charitable non-profit 501(c)(3) organization. All donations, whether in the form of cash or an auction item, are tax deductible. Donors are encouraged to consult with their tax advisor for more information 2020 T-SHIRT and SWEATSHIRT DESIGN Nationally known artist Karen Donnelly Draak of Arooo Studios has again designed and generously donated the fabulous artwork depicting our SUPERSCOTS/Bearded Crusaders as a tribute to 2020. This is guaranteed to be another collectible you will want to get your "paws" on! These limited edition shirts can be pre-ordered during the registration process as well as purchased (in limited quantities) at the Rally. KEY WEATHER POINTS TO BE AWARE OF May weather in northeast Wisconsin can be unpredictable. Our Scottish Terriers, often referred to as the “die hard” breed, are used to cool and unpredictable weather and come prepared with their own built-in coats. For their humans, a sense of humor and layers are recommended! You may also want to bring a coat for elder Scotties. A bonfire and patio heaters will be available if the weather is cool, in addition to heated tent space for shopping/bidding. If the weather remains chilly, hot coffee and tea will be available throughout both Rally days. Liability Insurance excludes the presence of alcoholic beverages—thank you for understanding! BE SURE TO BRING

    • A poop bag for the Parade of the Scots! • Comfortable lawn seating and a jacket (or purchase the 2020 sweatshirt!) • Water bowl and exercise pen for your Scottie(s) (pick-up scoops available) • A desire to support our mission and of course your checkbook/credit card!

EARLY ARRIVAL/SET-UP POLICY If you want to get a jump-start on best seating and best shopping at the Scottie Shoppe be sure to sign up to attend on Friday, 5/15. Rally grounds open at 1:30 p.m. on that day. Only people who register for Friday or both Friday and Saturday will be allowed to set up their items or enter Scottie Rally Headquarters on Friday, and then only starting at 1:30 p.m. (Please see above in “Donating Items” for how to drop off donated items on Friday.) This policy of limited Friday access to Rally Headquarters allows our volunteers to complete their work more efficiently and with fewer barriers to work around. PARKING and RESTROOMS Please note change in parking this year! General parking for both Friday and Saturday is located at 2657 Cty Rd EE (southwest corner of intersection of County EE/F) with frequent shuttle rides beginning at 1:15 p.m. on Friday and 8 a.m. on Saturday. The Park 'n Bark lot in the meadow adjacent to Rally Headquarters is restricted on both days to attendees with state-issued disabled placard or plates only. Effective this year there will be NO RALLY PARKING permitted at Baileys Grove Campground. Portable restrooms and handwashing stations will be available near the entrance to Rally Headquarters. SCHEDULED APPOINTMENTS FOR OPTIONAL EVENTS

We ask for your patience with a new system of scheduling your optional events that require appointment time. Beginning late March registrants who have paid for the optional events below will receive an email so that you can schedule your own appointments.

SCOTTIE MASSAGE: Even Superheroes Need Relaxation! (limited availability) Kathleen Folz graciously returns to DCSR for another year with her 2nd favorite breed. She is intuitively aware of what a fur kid needs since she is a canine mom herself! Kathleen continues to be a canine advocate who is passionate about Greyhound Rescue, knowledgeable about holistic veterinary care and has a heart of gold and magical fingers! Session Fee is $15/dog TRAINING CONSULT (limited availability on Friday and Saturday) Join Jody Hergert‐Andresen for a focused 25 minute session on any topic of interest or concern. Jody is a tireless advocate of pet owners being positive, consistent, and being in a partnership with a focus on reinforcing desirable behaviors rather than correcting undesirable behaviors. Session fee is $35 PET PSYCHIC SESSIONS/Saturday Gale Ritchey, artist, intuitive and pet psychic returns to provide counseling for you and your fur kid(s)as they express their concerns to her compassionate spirit. Gale is a Door County Scottie Rally favorite and has been responsible for some significant behavioral and health changes once recommendations are implemented at home. Session Fee is $35 Abdominal Ultrasound Screening (Friday and Saturday) We are extremely grateful to Kevin Byl DVM (pictured) and Lakeshore Veterinary Specialists for their commitment to returning this year and providing ultrasounds on fur kid(s) particularly those 6 years of age and older. We know from work done by Dr. Debbie Knapp DVM at Purdue University that we have a better chance of managing/intervening on abnormalfindings the earlier they are detected. Scotties are 20 times more prone to developing bladder cancer which is the major reason we provide this screening for an affordable rate. Session Fee is $60.
