The Dorset Difference At Dorset Primary School, our students and staff aim to inspire, achieve and succeed. We encourage students to be lifelong learners and responsible, resilient people. Each student is supported by a team of experienced and passionate educators. Our classrooms feature: High achieving Literacy program Hands - on Mathematics learning 1:1 Notebook Program in Years 3 - 6 and iPad program in F - 2 We emphasise positive relationships at school. Student voice is promoted through a range of leadership roles, a Junior School Council and lunchtime clubs. Clubs are tailored to student interests and include a choir and art club among many others. A breakfast club also runs before school each day. Staff are highly trained in the Real Schools Restorative Practice program. Our Chaplain provides support to individuals and families in need. We offer a welcoming and supportive community for families, with regular events, movie nights and concerts held at the school. Our specialist program includes: Physical Education Performing Arts Italian Science Digital Technologies and Library Visual Arts Stephanie Alexander Kitchen

Garden Program (Year 3-6) The Early Years at Dorset Foundation classes are capped at 20 and students participate in creative learning sessions and developmental experiences such as cooking and the Perceptual Motor Program.

Literacy is the core focus in junior years. Students use speech-pathologist developed Cued Articulation and the Soundwaves program to develop their literacy skills and become resilient, resourceful readers and writers. Students also have access to Reading Eggs and Magic Words resources. Our Foundation Transition program runs from August to December.
