The groups

Spokesperson: Miquel Àngel. Instructions: In this outing the groups and spokespeople will be the same as in
the outing to the Cathedral. Remember to take something to eat and drink from home. While the teachers talk, you cannot take pictures. You must listen, ask questions and take notes. Use a hard cardboard and fix your dossier to it. It will be easier for you to take notes if you do it
this way. Use the space provided next to each stop to take notes. Notes must be taken individually. The
Dossier will be collected by the teachers and will be given a mark. Notes shoud be taken in Catalan, when Bernat does the explanations.
As a group, your task will be to check all the notes taken by the different members. You will do that after the outing.
There are two English tasks: At the museum (this task must be done individually) and Observing the neighbourhood (this task must be done as a group, as you did with the survey on city life after the outing to the Cathedral)
In Catalan, each group will have to do an oral exposition of the notes taken during the walk. In Spanish,each group will have to do an oral exposition of the activities of the dossier. You must
compare both outings (the one to the cathedral and the one to Santa Catalina) you will have to use examples taken from your dossier notes.
Itinerary: (9.00) we leave school after the first class.
First stop: Crossing La Riera and heading west at Hornabeque high rise block from the 60’s
Second stop: Listen to Bernat talking about the wind mills at Industria street.

English task: At the museum1) What kind of materials is the museum made of?
2) Can you tell from the outside what’s hidden behind the walls?
3) Did you have a look at the sculptures scattered around the main building? Which one did you like best? Write
here the name of sculpture you liked best. Write down the name of the artist, the title of the work, the year it
was created the materials it is made of and the dimensions. Think of a couple of adjectives to describe it. Why
did you like it?

The houses

2. Have they got balconies/blinds/ shutters?
3. Can you see the laundry hanging outide the windows?
4. How many storeys are most houses in Santa Catalina? One/two/ three/four-storey high?
5. Are there many high rise blocks of flats?
6. Compare the houses with the ones you saw next to the Cathedral. Can you see many court
yards?
Restaurants and cafés
1. Did you see many restaurants? What type? Fast food? International cuisine? Italian?
