Ten years have passed since the founding of IL CONCERTO ACCADEMICO. During all this time, the whole compound up to a maximum of 14 string players, and with which, on occasion, also collaborate wind and percussion instrumentalists, has been developing an intense activity that led to an extensive repertoire that starts from the Baroque to contemporary composers. In his repertoire are naturally masterpieces of the genre string orchestra and those most representative of Spanish music for this type of grouping.

The wide range repertoire is a huge demand on the group, as far as style is concerned. A challenge that IL CONCERTO ACCADEMICO an "extremely disciplined, group, offering always interpretations of great passion and plasticity" (Schwäbische Zeitung), is perfectly capable of dealing with expertise, as confirmed by the critics, which gives the merit of having " always very personal versions of a high uniformity and flexibility of style and artistic effect "(Süddeutsche Zeitung).

IL CONCERTO ACCADEMICO has given concerts all over Spain, and has achieved great success in the presentation in Germany, France (Festival Gitarrenfest) and Morocco. They have acompained soloists such as soprano Ana María Sánchez, the cellist Martin Hornstein, guitarists like Carmen María Ros, Ignacio Rodes and Wolfgang Weigel, José Benantzi Bilbao, organ, Maria Angel Garcia Soria, and Jesus Gomez, piano, and many more.

Spains first orchestra to record "Four Seasons" by Vivaldi as a live CD for RTVE, they released four more CDs with the same label: with the sponsorship of the College of Engineers of Murcia and Alicante Música en la Ingeniería I and II, with financial support of the City of Murcia, Musica para Salzillo, and sponsored by the University of Alicante Música para don Quijote, as well as the recording of El infierno prometido' by Miguel Franco, the music for the film "The Unmaking of" of Chumilla Garbajosa (November 2009).

The ensemble has given concerts in Germany, France and Morocco, and this season they are invited to Portugal, France (again in the Festival Gitarrenfest) and Argentina, as well as to record the complete works for String Orchestra by composer Claudia Montero.

IL CONCERTO ACCADEMICO is founder group of the Spanish Association of Specialized Vocal and Instrumental Groups - AEGIVE.
