Motivation for the activity : Proposal: Name of the event: RDIAS -MUN 2019 Date: 12th-14th Jan 2019 Time: 09:00-17:00 Venue: Lecture Theatre, B-101 and 102 Motivation for the activity: The MUN was organized so that the students were given a platform to debate

on the main theme being Mastering the Fourth Industrial Revolution which is of main concern in the 21st century. The simulation of the United Nations gave a deeper insight into the matters that are of national and international interest.

MUN gives students the opportunity to be part of a simulation of what happens in the United Nations which helps in building confidence and public speaking skills among students since they have to voice their opinions and thoughts in a manner where they put forth the views in a diplomatic manner to maintain harmony and peace yet discuss issues which need attention and proper resolution to the conflict that had arisen.

We saw participation from different colleges and schools in three committees that we held:

1. European Union2. Lok Sabha3. International Press

This gave students from RDIAS and other colleges become part of the Inaugural Edition of the RDIAS MUN 2019 where delegates were discussing and analyzing issues of international interest.

Abstract:

The Inaugural Edition of the RDIAS MUN 2019 saw a grand opening ceremony with the Chief Guest being Prof. M.M. Pant and Guest of Honor being Mr. Viraj Kalra who gave students industry oriented knowledge which made students realize that how technology is changing in the 21st century and how it is impacting the industry and market place. The Convener Ms. Shuchi Dikshit extended a warm welcome to the delegates and the guests.

Prof. M.M. Pant is an internationally renowned expert specialising in pedagogy, technology and the development of tools and curricula using latest available technologies. He is especially noted for his efforts in leveraging social media for improving learning and bringing the mobile into the classroom where it has been traditionally banned. Prof. Pant's current work and interests revolve around the development, delivery and promotion of educational products, processes and services that cater for the needs and interests of future learners, a framework that is named "Learning 221".


Prof MM Pant helped students know the intricacies in today s world and how these new technologies have changed the business environment. He also told students that this is one of the most trending yet debated topics across the business space.

The Guest of Honor for the ceremony was Mr. Viraj Kalra. Mr. Viraj is a passionate speaker, coach, trainer and consultant with 20+ years of leadership experience in Management Consulting, Higher Education and Media. 200+ training & consulting clients, 5000+ training days, 500+ coaching sessions & 50+ strategy & project management assignments add-up to Mr. Viraj's professional experience. Before co-founding White Ladder he was a Director with the Planman Group and prior to that he has worked with Sumitomo Corp, Perfect Relations & Lacoste.

As a key note speaker, trainer and coach Mr. Viraj designs & delivers sessions & modules on Leadership, Organizational Culture, Personal Effectiveness, Motivation, Team-building, Communication & Presentation Skills, Selling & Personal Branding among others. Sir also engages with prominent Indian and international universities to deliver sessions on communication, employability, personal effectiveness and passion. In his session, he gave an insight to the students on technology and commerce. He made the students know how important strategies and what affect it can have on the world are. He also spoke about the VUCA World and left the students to ponder if Artificial Intelligence is better or Emotional Intelligence.

After this Director Sir Prof Dr. Raman Garg declared the MUN open which was followed by two sessions of the committees organized on the day one of the MUN. Session started with explaining the students about the proceedings that will be taking place over the next two days.

The Executive Board of European Union was Chairperson Mr. Aniket Basu and Vice Chariperson Mr. Rishabh Gupta. The agenda raised in the European Union was Future of Digital Economy and Society Delegates were seen discussing aspects of taxation, cyber security and hacking. The next day the students were given the opportunity to discuss a crisis and were also part to the General Speakers List.

The Executive Board of Lok Sabha was Chairperson Mr Ankit Goel and Vice chairperson Mr Priyanshu Tripathi. The agenda raised was Unchecked Population Growth a Challenge to the Economy Delegates were seen discussing how population is impacting the economic growth and eventually it was considered that the 2 child policy is not an affective way or method to control the ever rising population.

The International Press had Mr Tushar Aggarwal as the chairperson of the Executive Board and was seen keeping a track of the Delegates of what they were discussing and were even seen capturing the event through the two days.

There were heated arguments and discussions that took place in the two committees but saw resolution of conflicts with ease and mutual understanding.

The Third Day saw the closing ceremony which was graced with the presence of Ms Surekha Srivastava a Deputy Director at Bharat Scouts and Guides. Ma am inspired all the students to strive hard to make a successful career and use each opportunity to the fullest. She also motivated us to engage ourselves into more society related activities which help people of the lower strata to come up.

The Co Convener Mr Anurag Tiruwa shared the proceedings of the committees and a glimpse of the discussions that took place and resolutions passed in the sessions.


The results were announced and saw Jaypee Institute of Information Technology Sec-128 win the best delegation and following awards were distributed by Dr. Prof. Raman Garg and Ms. Surekha Shrivastava

Conclusion:

The RDIAS MUN 2019 saw participation of delegates with a lot of zest and zeal. All of them had well researched matter so that they could give their best to the portfolio that was allotted to them. The delegates were enthusiastic and gave their opinion on our main theme Mastering the Fourth Industrial Revolution
