Theme
First of all, The Dot fits perfectly into my class curriculum. Theme is in the fourth grade standards, and we have been discussing this topic for the past couple weeks. So, we started off by reviewing theme.
Next, we viewed The Dot and discussed the theme. The class determined that the theme must be ‘Always try and never say I can’t’.

Dot Day: September 15th, 2011 We also watched Ish and
determined the theme of ‘Don’t listen to what other people say’
Finally, we created our own shapes in many different sizes, colors, medians.
We also made ish-ish drawings (the students especially loved the Ish drawings!)
There were so many creative designs like the solar system-ish on the left.
