Ideas for photographs to use on DPS..

I liked the idea of a photograph similar to both of these to use as the main image for our double page spread because i felt like they were both similar to our topic.

Page 2: Double page spread

Ideas of layout for the DPS I completed a rough

template (using a photo off the internet) to give me a brief idea

of how I’d like the layout of my double page spread to look

like.

Channel 4 symbol as this is the channel the

documentary will be shown on.

Time and date the documentary will be shown on.

Title at a slant to give it a bit of a ‘fun factor’ this will draw the reader in and make them want to find out more.

This text box will be full of text explaining what will be happening in the documentary and what its about.

Page 3: Double page spread

Looking at other DPSThere is a clear separation of columns. This is important to use in magazine articles as it makes it clear for the readers to understand the layout and what to read next etc.

At the bottom of the page there are page numbers, this also makes it clear for the readers to understand the layout.

The photos on both of these take up about 1/3rd to ½ of the whole double page spread. This draws the readers in as it gives them a inside of what the article talks about.

The title on the double page spreads also takes up a lot of the room. This draws the readers attention in and normally is a quote from the article. Or it gives a good idea of what’s in the article.

There is normally a drops cap in articles because it’s symbolic to the magazine genre and a general thing that magazines do.
