Double Page Spread Annotation

Page 2: Double page spread annotation

The red L for Lady Gaga stand out incredibly well against the black and white scheme for the rest of the page. This is very dramatic and reflects the artist herself.

Lady Gaga is only wearing chains as she poses for this shot, this is very dramatic and the dramatic effect is enhanced by the black and white effect on the photo

The word lady has been written in italics and creates a feminine look, as lady gaga herself is a lady in the sense that she is well mannered like a lady. Where as the Gaga is written in bold font which connotes that the artist herself is a bold character

The writing of the article is small and difficult to read however it does contrast well with the large L in the middle of the text.

The layout of the page is neat and simple, which adds to the dramatic effect of the red L and the almost nude picture of lady gaga.

The quote has been written out in pieces of ripped out paper which reflects that artist as it seems almost confrontational.

Lily Allen is leaning forward slightly as if she is engaging the reader.

The colour scheme of the page reflects the colours that the artist is wearing, creating a continuous colour scheme which makes the page appear well thought out and put together

The quote that has been placed at the top of the page invites the reader to carry on reading the article, the quote is supposed to intrigue the reader and this one does just that.

The article layout has been inspired by a real life example featuring Lady Gaga.

Fifty percent of the page is a large black and white studio shot. This looks very professional.

The model is wearing a smart suit with the tie a little loose, this create a smart and sophisticate look as well as keeping it “cool”.

The colour scheme has been kept very simple, this adds to the classy sophisticated look. The red makes the page seem dramatic

The article has been written in simple clear writing, making it easy for the reader to understand it.

None of the writing has overlapped the page which would have been difficult to read and looked unprofessional.

Best

The page has a lot of blank spaces, which makes it appear bare and uninteresting.

The writing it difficult to read which could influence the target audience not to buy the product.

There are a lot of spelling mistakes throughout the article which makes it look very unprofessional.

Worst

The layout of the double page spread has not been very thought through. This creates a confusing feeling which may discourage readers from reading the article.
