Headline: Unfocused Rose in the spotlight We introduce the hottest new duo, Unfocused Rose to Bassline and to you! The girls, Niamh and Shauna, are here to tell us about how it’s been making their way into the music business to begin their newly chart topping success. Where did the name Unfocused Rose come from? Niamh: Well we both actually share the same middle name, Rose so that was inevitable. Shauna: And we’re not perfect, we like the fact that we can just play for the joy of it and sometimes we get good music from it. Music is never 100% polished and that’s just how we are, unpolished but enjoy-able. N: We hope anyway. How long have you been playing together? N: Well it was sort of an accident. Since we were 13/14 we both loved to sing, we would sing alone and together all the time and it just gradually went form there. S: We’d sit about messing around on guitars and pianos singing songs we loved and we just realised that maybe we could make it a regular thing and it all went from there. You’re playing a lot of festivals this year, which are you most excited for? S: No doubt about it, Glasto. Who wouldn’t be excited to play that crowd, I’m ecstatic that I’m going to be attending let alone playing it. N: Glastonbury is going to be incredible, as long as we don’t screw up, but I’m excited to play Latitude actually. I’ve been to the festival

Headline: Unfocused Rose in the spotlight

We introduce the hottest new duo, Unfocused Rose to Bassline and to you! The girls, Niamh and

Shauna, are here to tell us about how it’s been making their way into the music business to begin

their newly chart topping success.

Where did the name Unfocused Rose come from?

Niamh: Well we both actually share the same middle name, Rose so that was inevitable.

Shauna: And we’re not perfect, we like the fact that we can just play for the joy of it and sometimes we get

good music from it. Music is never 100% polished and that’s just how we are, unpolished but enjoy-able.

N: We hope anyway.

How long have you been playing together?

N: Well it was sort of an accident. Since we were 13/14 we both loved to sing, we would sing alone and to-

gether all the time and it just gradually went form there.

S: We’d sit about messing around on guitars and pianos singing songs we loved and we just realised that

maybe we could make it a regular thing and it all went from there.

You’re playing a lot of festivals this year, which are you most excited for?

S: No doubt about it, Glasto. Who wouldn’t be excited to play that crowd, I’m ecstatic that I’m going to be

attending let alone playing it.

N: Glastonbury is going to be incredible, as long as we don’t screw up, but I’m excited to play Latitude actu-

ally. I’ve been to the festival multiple times and you always wish that you’re on the other side of the barrier

and this year we will be.

You’re album’s out on 13th April, how does it feel to be able to say that?

N: Incredible, I never would’ve believed we could say that, we started off playing in our living rooms, some-

times recording in our bedrooms and now we’ve been in a state of the art studio working with some amaz-

ing producers helping us get our first album together.

What does it feel like to play in front of thousands of people?

N: Surreal.

S: We’ve always played gigs but only recently have we got this big following and singing in front of thou-

sands of people is the most incredible feeling but yes, it’s not sunk in yet, I don’t think it ever will really.

Each and every show is different and amazing in it’s own way.

What inspired you to write your new single‘Today’?

N: It was one of the last songs we wrote for the album actually, it basically sums up the hard work that

went into creating this album over the past few years

S: Whatever you’re doing right now, Today matters.

So what’s next for Unfocused Rose?

S: Lots of interviews and promotional work right now and then the best bit… Tour. We’re going on our first

ever European Tour next month.

N: It’s going to be so much fun, we’ve been in the studio working hard on our music recently and now we fi-

nally get to travel all over the place and show people what we’ve got to give.
