The 2013/14 season maks the Companys 27th yea. Since its ounding in 1986,

Doug Vaone and Dances has commanded attention o its expansive vision,

vesatility and technical powess. On the concet stage, in opea, theate and on

the sceen, Vaones kinetically thilling dances make essential connections and

mine the complexity o the human spiit. Fom the smallest gestue to ull-thottle

busts o movement, Vaones wok can take you beath away.

At home in New Yok City, Doug Vaone and Dances is the esident company at

the 92nd Steet Y Hakness Dance Cente. On tou, the Company has peomed

in moe than 100 cities in 45 states acoss the U.S. and in Euope, Asia, Canada,

and South Ameica. Stages include The Kennedy Cente, Lincoln Cente, Booklyn

Academy o Music, San Fancisco Peomances, Londons Queen Elizabeth Hall,Toontos Habouont, Moscows Stanislavsky Theate, Buenos Aies Teato San

His New Yok City-based Doug Vaone and Dances has been commissioned and

pesented to citical acclaim by leading intenational venues o nealy thee

decades. In 2008, Vaones Bottomland, set in the Mammoth Caves o Kentucky,was the subject o the PBS Dance in Ameicas Wolf TrapsFace of America.

In opea, Vaone is in demand as a diecto and choeogaphe. Among his ou

poductions at The Metopolitan Opea ae Salome with its sensational Danceof the Seven Veils o Kaita Mattila and the wold pemiee o Tobias PickesAn American Tragedy. His Met Opea poduction o Hecto Beloizs Les Troyenswas ecently boadcast woldwide in HD. He has staged multiple pemies and

In the concet dance wold, Vaone has ceated a body o woks globally.

Comissions include the Limn Company, Hubbad Steet Dance Chicago,

rambet Dance Company (London), Matha Gaham Dance Company,

Dancemakes (Canada), Batsheva Dance Company (Isael), Ben Ballet

(Switzeland) and An Ceative (Japan), among othes. In addition, his

dances have been staged on moe than 75 college and univesity pogams.

Vaone eceived his BFA om Puchase College whee he was awaded the

Pesidents Distinguished Alumni Awad in 2007. He has been honoed with a

Guggenheim Fellowship, an OBIE Awad, two individual Bessie Awads, two

Ameican Dance Festival Dois Duke Awads o New Wok, and ou National

Dance Poject Awads.

As an educato, Vaone teaches wokshops and maste classes aound the wold

o dances, musicians and actos. He is cuently on the aculty at Puchase

College, teaching composition and choeogaphy.
