Happy Talk is working to improve the language and learning skills of children in the 0-3 and 3-6 age groups in the Glen

and Mayfield areas. This afternoon the Happy Talk team of speech and language therapists runs games and activities for young children in Blackpool Library. Tapestry of Colours is an emotive feature length documentary which explores the fusion of cultures in Northern Ireland. It includes personal and moving interviews with individuals from diverse backgrounds and cultures, set against colourful and unusual festivals with a strong emphasis on music. The film poses questions on perceptions and attitudes about identity and culture, but ultimately leaves the viewer engaged and inspired. This is its first screening in the Republic.

Marie’s work integrates ideas from educational psychotherapy, attachment theory and teaching to support young people, parents and educators in accessing real learning. Educational Psychotherapy is about working on blocks to learning and thinking differently about a child’s behaviour to facilitate real change, as opposed to managing behaviour and reacting to crises as they happen.
