THIS SEASON PROMISES THIS SEASON PROMISES PLENTY OF EXCITING RACINGPLENTY OF EXCITING RACING

elcome to Keeneland’s Fall Meet, a showcase of

the finest in Thoroughbred racing during an extraordinary time. Fans around the world are watching our Fall Meet with special interest as we anticipate the Breeders’ Cup World Championships here on Nov. 6-7. Neither the Fall Meet nor Breeders’ Cup will look the same this year as both events are closed to the public due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic. The safety of our participants, employees and fans remains our top priority, and we know this is the responsible course of action. We have the most loyal and enthusiastic fans in the world, and we can’t wait for the day when we can welcome them back for live racing.

Thanks to all of you for your continued support of Keeneland during this most unusual year. We salute the racehorse owners and everyone else who is helping put on the Fall Meet—trainers, exercise riders, grooms, hot walkers and others in the stable area who have reported to work every day since the

pandemic began to continue caring for the horses.

Special thanks also go to our corporate partners who are sponsoring Fall Meet stakes: Buffalo Trace, Claiborne Farm, Darley, Dixiana, Hagyard Equine Medical Institute, JPMorgan Chase, Juddmonte Farms, Lexus of Lexington, Pin Oak Farm, Rood & Riddle Equine Hospital, Shadwell, Stoll Keenon Ogden, TVG and UK HealthCare.

This season, we celebrate the 10th running of the historic Phoenix (G2) as sponsored by Stoll Keenon Ogden (SKO), the noted Lexington law firm and the only legal counsel Keeneland has ever had. Meanwhile, the Phoenix is the oldest stakes race in the U.S. It is being run for the 168th time this year.

COVID-19 has changed everything. Thanks to the resiliency of our community and our industry, we will emerge from this unprecedented experience stronger than ever. Thanks for being with us.

Keeneland and the Thoroughbred racing industry appreciate the participation of all owners of horses at the race meet. Owners invest in racehorses both as a sporting and business proposition. They not only pay to buy the horses but also for their training, veterinary and general care, and employ the jockeys who ride them.

The owners listed have horses running today, and Keeneland salutes them for their support.

  • 2020 Keeneland Fall Meet Program 7A

Keeneland is one of the fi rst tracks in America to display decimal odds and payoffs on its tote board and to offer $1 win, place and show wagering. The number displayed is the payout for a $1 wager which means if you wager $1 to win on the 1 horse, you will receive $80.50 in return. If you wagered $2 on the 1 horse, you will receive $161 in return.

    UNDERSTANDING DECIMAL ODDS

PICK THREE• A late scratch in the fi rst leg of a Pick Three wager results in a refund.

    • A late scratch in either the second or third leg of a Pick Three wager does not result in a refund, but entitles the ticket holder to a consolation payoff if the winners of the other two legs are selected.

    • Any change in racing surface for the second and third legs of the Pick Three, that was not made known to the public prior to the start of the fi rst race of the Pick Three sequence, results in an “All Win” situation. All Pick Three tickets will receive the winner of the affected race as the selection for that race.

PICK FOUR• A late scratch in any leg of the Pick Four will result in the ticket holder being

assigned the actual betting favorite as a substitute for the scratched horse.

    • There are no consolation payoffs in the Pick Four.

    • Any change in racing surface for the second, third, and fourth legs of the Pick Four, that was not made known to the public prior to the start of the fi rst race of the Pick Four sequence, results in an “All Win” situation. All Pick Four tickets will receive the winner of the affected race as the selection for that race.

    • There are no carryovers in the Pick Four; if no perfect tickets are sold the wager will pay to all tickets with the greatest number of winners.

PICK FIVE• A late scratch in any leg of the Pick Five will result in the ticket holder being

assigned the actual betting favorite as a substitute for the scratched horse.

    • Any change in racing surface for any leg of the Pick Five, that was not made known to the public prior to the start of the fi rst race of the Pick Five sequence, results in an “All Win” situation. All Pick Five tickets will receive the winner of the affected race as the selection for that race.

    • All winning tickets with fi ve correct selections will share in 75% of the daily net pool, and 100% of the carryover. When there are winning tickets with fi ve correct selections, all ticket holders with four correct selections share in 25% of the daily net pool.

    • If there are no tickets with fi ve winners, all ticket holders with the greatest number of winners share in 25% of the daily net pool, with the remainder of the net pool carried over to the next racing day. There is a mandatory payout of the entire net pool on the last day of the race meet. Please note: The Early Pick Five carries over to the Early Pick Five on the next racing day. The Late Pick Five carries over to the Late Pick Five on the next racing day.

PICK SIX• A late scratch in any leg of the Pick Six will result in the ticket holder being

assigned the actual betting favorite as a substitute for the scratched horse.

    • Any change in racing surface for any leg of the Pick Six, that was not made known to the public prior to the start of the fi rst race of the Pick Six sequence, results in an “All Win” situation. All Pick Six tickets will receive the winner of the affected race as the selection for that race.

    • All winning tickets with six correct selections will share in 75% of the daily net pool, and 100% of the carryover. When there are winning tickets with six correct selections, all ticket holders with fi ve correct selections share in 25% of the daily net pool.

    • If there are no tickets with six winners, all ticket holders with the greatest number of winners share in 25% of the daily net pool, with the remainder of the net pool carried over to the next racing day. There is a mandatory payout of the entire net pool on the last day of the race meet.

RULES ON PICK THREE, PICK FOUR, PICK FIVE & PICK SIX

This drawing shows Keeneland’s mile and one-sixteenth main track and 7 1/2-furlong turf course. Red and white poles, set a quarter-mile apart, mark the course, with green and white poles dividing the quarters into eighths. The black and white poles divide the eighths into sixteenths of a mile. The poles are referred to in terms of distance from the fi nish.

The quarter pole, for example, is a quarter-mile from the fi nish line. In addition to its main fi nish line on the main track, Keeneland has an alternate fi nish line coinciding with the sixteenth pole. This alternate fi nish line permits the running of mile and one-sixteenth races, with the start and fi nish at the sixteenth pole. The fi nish line used in each race is marked with a large red disk.

    TRACK LAYOUT

In an effort to provide our patrons with additional information, this graphic is displayed on in-house televisions tuned to Channel 12.2, Keeneland’s Trakus channel. The total feet traveled by the winning horse is listed fi rst; the distance traveled by each remaining horse in the fi eld is listed comparatively to the winners’ distance.
