The Cardinal is found in the United States from the Gulf of Mexico north to New York and west to Iowa. The cardinal is about nine inches long. The male has brilliant red feathers of many shades. It has a black face and neck. The female has brownish-gray plumage with splashes of red. Both sexes have a high crest of feathers on their head, resembling a crown. Education is:
Education is a companion which no misfortune con decrease . no crime destroy. no enemy alienate, no despotism enslave; at home a friend. abroad on introduction. in solitude a solace . in society on ornament. It chastens vice. guides virtue. and gives grace and government to genius. Education may cost financial sacrifice and mental pain. but in both money and life values it will repay every cost one hundred fold .
