Happy November to all of you! Since Thanksgiving is practically here, I want to let
all of you know how thankful I am for all of you and for the Senior Activity Center
of Smyrna. I am grateful that there is a place that provides all the activities and
programs for Seniors to take part, as well as a place for all of you to come in and
make new friends. I hope all of you have a blessed Thanksgiving as you celebrate
with family, friends or your favorite football game or parade that is televised on
Thanksgiving Day. I love you all and I love my job.
On Monday after Thanksgiving, we have 38 eager travelers who will be leaving for
our Christmas trip to Natchez, Mississippi with Jimmy the Cricket. We will have
our trip meeting on Tuesday, November 9 at 2:00 p.m. so everyone who is going on
this trip needs to plan to attend this meeting to receive all kinds of useful
information from Jimmy the Cricket himself.
Originally, we had a cruise meeting scheduled for November 9 but Jo Ann Lynch is
unable to attend on this date. We will reschedule that meeting for January, 2022.
Jo Ann is excited to introduce Viking Cruises to us which is a new cruise line to
us.
There are a lot of Holiday activities and events coming up in December. Please
pay attention to these on your December calendar and make sure you sign up for
anything you are interested in participating. Our December monthly meeting will
be on Tuesday, December 14 at the Smyrna Event Center. There is no cost for you
to attend this luncheon meeting but you must sign up in advance to attend. Space
will be limited and priority seating will be given to those who sign up by Tuesday,
December 7. Our entertainment for this event will be provided by “Pontiac Alley,”
a Nashville Duo comprised of traditional country power vocalist Chellanie and
Acoustic Rocker/Producer Ben Potter. They have been described as unique, fun
and upbeat with an acoustic Americana sound. They enjoy performing songs that
engage the audience with a positive message in a fun and entertaining manner.
Don’t forget our Craft and Christmas Sale - November 5 - 9:00 - 4:00
November 6 - 9:00 - 2:00
You don’t want to miss out on the beautiful items made by our crafters.
