The North Atlantic Fiddle ConventionThe NAFCo 2018 programme will be our most ambitious yet for Aberdeen, with more than 150 events, featuring over 75 artists representing a variety of fiddle traditions from Scotland to the Baltic, throughout Scandinavia and down the continent to Spain, from Ireland to Canada and USA, the Caribbean and even India!
The beauty of NAFCo is the variety and accessibility of the events— from master classes to beginner fiddle workshops, other instrumental workshops, dance workshops, demonstrations, come and try opportunities, talks, film screenings, sessions, dances, and so much more. Free performances will include Random Acts of Violins and Dance in public spaces, acoustic recitals, and lunchtime concerts.
The programme includes dozens of events around Aberdeenshire – reaching from Arbuthnott to Banff & MacDuff, and Braemar to Fraserbugh. Audiences and musicians can join in on our NAFCo Days Oot to visit sites around the North-east and take in workshops and concerts at our out-of-town venues.
