5 Getting Started
Select an emptyfile to begin a newgame, or select aused save file tocontinue aprevious one.After selecting a file, you willproceed to the mode selectionscreen.

6 Saving and Erasing Data
Saving Data
Your game, including any SunStones (p. 9) collected, will saveautomatically whenever you clear astage.
♦ If you exit the game, the numberof lives you have remaining, thenumber of stars you havecollected, and any currentlyheld Copy Ability or Assist Starwill not be saved.
Erasing Data
Select on the mode selectionscreen to erase data.
♦ Data cannot be recovered onceerased, so please be careful.
● Do not turn the power off,reset the system or removeGame Cards/SD Cards whilesaving. Make sure not to getdirt in the terminals. Theseactions could result inpermanent data loss.
● Do not use externalaccessories or software tomodify your save data, asthis can lead to an inabilityto progress or loss of savedata. Any modification ispermanent, so be careful.

8 Copying Abilities
♦ After taking a certain amount ofdamage, you may lose yourcurrent ability.
Press or touch DROPABILITY on the touchscreen to discard yourcurrent ability. Discardedabilities will be ejected as stars.You can inhale these stars againand copy their ability as long asyou catch them before theydisappear.
Drop Current CopyAbility
You can check a detailed list ofcontrols for your current abilityon the pause screen (p. 10).
Swallow certain enemiesto copy their abilities.Use these abilities todefeat other enemies andget past certain types of obstacle.
♦ You can also get abilities fromCopy Essences (p. 13).
♦ Use to move whileinhaling.
♦ It is not possible to copyenemy abilities when inpossession of theHypernova ability.
♦ After clearing a stage, youwill lose the Hypernovaability and your previousability will be restored.
Grab theMiracle Fruit(p. 13) togain theHypernovaability. This will increase yourinhalation power, allowing youto inhale much larger objectsthan normal, as well as movecertain heavy objects. Anylarge items thrown at you byenemies can be inhaled andthen fired right back at them.

If you swallow two or moreenemies with different abilities atthe same time, the ability activatedwill be determined by a roulettewheel. Press or to stop theroulette.

Level Map Screen
Select a stage to move to the in-game screen (p. 11).
Select a levelto proceed tothe level mapscreen.
World Map Screen
Select the level and then the stageyou wish to play. Each level ismade up of a number of stages,with a final boss stage at the end.Defeat the boss to open up thenext level on the map.
These are hiddenthroughout thestages. Collect acertain number ofthem to unlock the end oflevel boss stage. Keep oncollecting as many as you canfind to unlock extra stages.

Enter the door located atthe end of each stage toclear it and begin theGoal Game.
Clearing Stages
3D Warp Stars
Jump on these to travelbetween the foregroundand background. Starswith an orange centrecan be used to travel back andforth, but completely yellow onesare one way only, so be careful!
Proceedthrough eachstagedefeating anyenemies youencounteralong the way. Certain obstaclescan only be navigated around bymoving between the foregroundand the background, so be sure tokeep an eye out for any 3D WarpStars!
Press or touchPAUSE on thetouch screento display thepause screen. Here you canview a list of controls for yourcurrent Copy Ability, or exitthe current stage.

Losing Lives andGame Over
You will lose a life and restart fromthe previous checkpoint if yourhealth meter (p. 11) fully depletesor you fall into a pit. Lose all ofyour lives and it will be game over.
Goal Game
Press tostop the powergauge. Try tostop it whenit's as full aspossible — thefuller it is, the further Kirby will fly.The items you receive (p. 13) willdepend on the distance Kirby flies.

Warp Star
Ride these to travel tonew areas.
Cannon
Light the fuse using theFire ability or anotherfiery move and then climbinside!
Switch
Touch or hit these toactivate them. Activatingswitches can do manythings, such as openingnearby shutter gates.
Bomb Block
Destroy this and it willexplode, its effectsspreading to thingsnearby.
Ensure that you haveadequate space around youand that you hold the systemfirmly in both hands whileplaying. Failing to do so couldresult in injury and/or damageto surrounding objects.
There are many more stagefeatures to be found in-game!
Special StageFeatures
When isdisplayed, youcan tilt yoursystem tomake certainstage featuresmove.
♦ If the movement of the stagefeature doesn't seem to beproperly aligned with the tilt ofyour system, hold the systemupright and touch .

Copy Essence
Gain the ability displayed onthe Copy Essence.
Invincible Candy
You will not take anydamage for a short period oftime.
1-Up
Grants you an extra life.
Point Star
Collect 100 stars to gain anextra life. The number ofstars you will receivedepends on the colour of the PointStar collected.
Maxim Tomato
Fully replenishes your healthmeter.
Food
Replenishes some of yourhealth meter.
♦ You can exchange PlayCoins for Keychains fivetimes per stage. Completea stage to beginexchanging again.

Fires a laser thatreaches from theforeground into thebackground and viceversa. Use this todefeat enemies or toactivate switches.
3D Laser Bar
Use these to breakthrough certain types ofblock. The timer willbegin as soon as youpick it up, so be sure to get wellaway before it explodes.
Timed Dynamite

Multiplayer Fight against yourfriends (p. 16).
Single PlayerWin seven battlesin the fastest timepossible.
Training
Train aloneagainst the CPU.Set the ability andstrengths of youropponents as youtrain for battle.
Player Settings
Here you canadjust the strengthand ability settingsof both player andCPU controlledfighters forMultiplayer and Training modes.
Fight usingKirby in all hisdifferentguises. Thereare threedifferent waysto play.
If you set this toEnable, then even ifyou are defeatedyou will be able tocontinue fighting as GhostKirby. Attack a Kirby opponentto bring yourself back to life!
Ghost Kirby
Guarding
Hold the guard buttonand the guard meter willappear. This meter willdeplete as you continueto guard. When it is fully depletedyou will become stunned andunable to move for a short periodof time.
Rules
Make use of your Copy Ability andany items that appear as you dobattle with other Kirbys. The lastKirby standing is the winner.
Options Menu
The creator of the group can press on the player settings screen todisplay the options menu. Adjustvarious settings, such as theappearance rate of items, orwhether or not Ghost Kirby isactivated.
Action Star
These may appear a shorttime after the battlebegins. Hit them and seewhat happens!

16 Battling With Friends
Create a group and wait for otherplayers, or join an already createdgroup.
Local Play
You Will Need
- One Nintendo 3DS system perplayer
- At least one copy of the software
Kirby Fighters Battles
You can battleagainst amaximum ofthree otherplayers. If eachplayer has acopy of the software, you canbattle using Local Play. You canotherwise use Download Play tobattle each other.
Download Play
Join a group to begin battling.
♦ When using the Download Playfeature, there will be feweroptions available to you.
Joining a Group
Select KIRBY FIGHTERS on themode selection screen, thenMULTIPLAYER and finally choosewhich group you would like to join.
Creating a Group
❷ When the names of the otherbattle participants are displayed,select START.
❶ Select KIRBYFIGHTERS onthe modeselectionscreen, thenMULTIPLAYERand finally CREATE GROUP.
Joining a Group
❶ On the HOMEMenu, touch theDownload Playicon and thenOpen.
❷ Touch the Nintendo 3DS logoand then the panel for thissoftware.
❸ Wait for the game to begin.
♦ You may need to perform asystem update. Follow the on-screen instructions to begin theupdate.
If you receive a message duringthe system update that theconnection was unsuccessful,carry out the system updatefrom the System Settingsapplication.

♦ This software will not enterSleep Mode during Local Play orDownload Play, even when theNintendo 3DS system is closed.

Activating andDeactivating StreetPass
Touch on the file selectionscreen to activate/deactivateStreetPass settings for thissoftware.
♦ The ability to exchange rankinginformation will become availableafter you have progressed acertain amount in the game.
♦ To communicate using thisfeature, all players must activateStreetPass for this software ontheir Nintendo 3DS systems.
If you pass by a fellow StreetPassuser, you will automaticallyexchange ranking information andreceive a copy of one of theKeychains that they have collectedthe next time you encounterBandana Waddle Dee.
