Methodology
Data collection method: Face to face interviews
Household selection method: Random selection of household addresses using “Random Walk Technique”
Respondent selection method: The respondents within household are randomly selected using the “Last Birthday Technique”
Sample: Randomly stratified by entities, regions,size of municipality, and type of settlement. Sample post-stratified by age and gender.Sample representative for population 18-65 in B&H and both entities.
Sample size is 1500 respondents.
Field work: July, 2010

The respondents overall choose positive answers more frequently than negative ones. The respondents from FB&H seem to have a more positive opinion about EU than respondents from RS and Brčko District.The results show that respondents from FB&H choose positive answers more frequently, while respondents from RS choose negative answers more frequently when asked to describe their opinion on EU.
The respondents from FB&H choose 'very important' option more frequently, while respondents from RS choose all other options more frequently when asked about the importance of B&H joining EU. When asked about joining NATO, respondents from FB&H seem to think more frequently that it is either very or somewhat important in comparison to the respondents from RS who seem to think of it more often as very or somewhat unimportant.
First asssociations with the EU for all respondents include more jobs (38,9%), better economy (23,1%), and better future for the young (11,5%). Respondents from FB&H choose the following answers more frequently: more jobs, human rights protection, and no more entities than respondents from RS. The latter choose more frequently than the former the following answers: loss of national identity, more possibility to travel abroad, and international protectorate.
When asked if they are informed about what B&H has done so far in the process of joining the EU, nearly one half of the respondents (46,8%) state that they have some information but that they are not too interested. A third of respondents state that they know a little and would like to know more (30,6%).

Over half of all respondents (56,1%) state that they expect the representatives of EU to be more
active in B&H. Respondents from FB&H choose more active option more frequently, while respondents from RS choose all other options more frequently.
When asked what they think about the efforts that local politicians have made in bringing B&H closer to the EU, two thirds of all respondents view those efforts as more negative (64,8%) than positive (35,2%). The respondents from FB&H choose negative answer options more frequently, while respondents from RS choose the following response options more frequently: mostly positive and do not know.

There is a statistically significant difference between the two entities: the respondents from FB&H choose very and somewhat important options more frequently, while respondents from RS choose very and somewhat unimportant options more frequently.
