Edging
• Installing a sharp line of separation between a garden area and an adjacent lawn.
• Can also refer to removing turf material that is overgrowing walks & driveways
Advantages of Edging
• Keeps weeds & grass from growing into garden beds
• Gives a firm edge to use a line trimmer against
• Gives a finished appearance to the lawn
Plastic edging
• Install by removing a wedge of sod• Place the edging in the gap • The top of the edging should be about 1” above
the lawn level• Straighten ahead of time by allowing to lay flat –
(esp. important in cold temperatures)• Best to stake down to prevent winter heaving• New types are more attractive →
