what is a platform anyway and how does it apply to the theatrical
exhibition industry? What are the lessons learned from some of the top
performing companies when it comes to embracing innovative systems?
How do they adapt the way they measure performance, manage human
resources or digital security? This session will introduce a number of key
concepts and practical tools that can help leading cinema chains as well
as smaller independent movie theaters achieve their full potential in the
new digital world.

CAPTAIN AMERICA: CIVIL WAR
Marvel's Captain America: Civil War finds Steve Rogers leading the
newly formed team of Avengers in their continued efforts to safeguard
humanity. But after another incident involving the Avengers results in
collateral damage, political pressure mounts to install a system of
accountability, headed by a governing body to oversee and direct the
team. The new status quo fractures the Avengers, resulting in two camps
—one led by Steve Rogers and his desire for the Avengers to remain free
to defend humanity without government interference, and the other
following Tony Stark's surprising decision to support government
oversight and accountability.

MOVIES FOR GROWNUPS: FILMS FOR AN OLDER, LOYAL, AND
GROWING THEATERGOING AUDIENCE
Would it surprise you to learn that the 50+ demographic, the fastest
growing age group in the U.S., has a huge influence on box office? This
market accounted for 37% of movie attendance revenues in 2015,
according to Scarborough Research, and is the only movie audience with
consistent growth. Understanding which types of films appeal to this
audience (don't just think criticallyacclaimed) and how best to reach
them (don¹t assume they aren¹t tech savvy) are keys to filling seats all
week long and growing your bottom line.
