AllAcademycoachesworktogetherasateam.Eachteamwillhaveadesignated“LEADCOACH”assignedtothemthatwillworkprimarilywiththatgroup.WealsohaveAcademy“Staff”CoacheswhoworkwithALLtheteamsandareplacedwheretheyareneededduringtrainingandgamecompetitions.ManyofourLEADcoachesareresponsibleforseveralteams.AcademyLeadCoachesandStaffCoachesworktogetherandWILLSHAREcoachingdutieswithallofourrespectiveAcademyteams.TherewillalwaysbeaCSCAcademystaffmemberdesignatedtoteamsduringcompetitions.

U8(2012):The2012agegroupwillhaveaAGEGROUPHEADCOACHassignedtooverseetheentireagegroupandassisttheAcademyDirectorthroughouttheseason.TheAgeGroupCoordinatorwillserveasaLEADCOACHforthe2012boysplayerpoolandwillassistwithsupervisionandguidanceforourLEADCOACHofthe2012girlsandofallplayersinthe2012girlsplayerpool.2012AgeGroupHeadCoach:JohnBoone

TEAMMAKE-UP

Playersaredesignatedtoteamsbasedonanevaluationprocessthatbeginsattry-outsandisONGOINGthroughouttheseason.NewplayersMAYbeatanytimethroughouttheyearafterevaluationperiod.Eachplayersdevelopsattheirownpace,somefasterthanothers.PlayersmaybemovedatANYtimeduringthe

seasonbetweenteamsfortrainingorgamesatthediscretionofthecoach.Itisourgoaltohaveplayerstrainingandcompetinginanenvironmentthatchallengesthemandengagesthemintheirdevelopment.Therearealsosomeinstanceswhereforagegroupsthataretieredbylevelthatwemaysometimesinter-mixplayersfromtwodifferentteamstocreate“parity/balanced”groupsfortrainingand/orrostersforspecificeventsasdeterminedbythecoaches.CSCdesignatesteamsaslistedbelow:

ROSTERSELECTIONS

ForallAcademyTeamsrostersaredeterminedonaneventbyeventbasis.Itisourgoalthatallplayerswillhaveopportunitytoplayinavarietyofcompetitiveexperiencesincludingfriendlies,jamborees,andtournaments.

Someplayerswillbelimitedtoplayingjustfriendliesandintra-club(CSCvs.CSC)duetotheircompetitivereadiness.Inagegroupwherewehavealargepoolofplayers,rostersizeswillbelimitedforeachgame/event.IntheAcademyagegroups,weplay7v7onthefield.Ideally,wewillrosterbetween10-12playerspergame/eventtoprovideadequateplayingtime.Everyplayerwillplaywhentheyarerostered;however,playingtimemaynotbeequal.Playingtimeisearnednotgiven.

Ifyourteamoragegrouppoolhasmorethan10-12players,thecoachwilldeterminetherostersforeachevent.Rosterswillbedeterminedinadvanceandourgoalistoprovideeachplayerwithclosetoequalplayingevents.

COMMITMENT/SCHEDULE

TheAcademyTeams&Poolsarea10-month“experience”.TheprogrambeginsinAugustandconcludesinMay.Playersareexpectedtoattendbothpracticeseachweekandallscheduledeventsfortheteaminwhichtheyarerosteredforontheschedule.Eachteamwillscheduleabalanceoffriendlygamesandtournamentsthatareappropriatefortheagegroupandtheleveloftheteam.ReviewtheAcademyTeamMatrixformoreinformation.SPORTSPECIALIZATION

AsaCSCregisteredplayeryouareNOTpermittedtoengageinanyothersocceractivitywithanyother

COMPETITIVESOCCERCLUBforthe2019-2020seasonalyear.IfyouareconsideringcontinuingtoplayMCSAorotherrecreationalsoccerprogramswhilealsoparticipatingonaCSCAcademyteamthisyear,thisispermittedsolongasyourcommitmenttoClarksvilleSCcomesfirstandyouwillnotmisspracticeorscheduledgames/eventsforthoseothersocceractivities.Flexiblearrangementscanbemadeforaplayerwhowishestoparticipateinanothersportoractivityduringtheyear.ItisimportanttocommunicatewiththeAcademyDirectorregardingyourothersport/activitycommitmentsinadvancetomakenecessaryarrangementsregardinganyconflicts.Sportspecializationisnotrequiredatthisage.

COMPETITION/TRAVEL

Thecompetitionscheduleforeachagegroupandeachteamwithinanagegroupwillvary.Schedulesaredeterminedtobestsuitthecompetitivereadinessofeachrespectiveteamineachagegroup.WetrytoschedulemostofourgameexperiencesforAcademyTeamswithfriendliesandintra-clubgames(CSCvCSC).andsometournamentexperience.Ourgoalistoprovideadequateplayingopportunitiesforallplayerswhilekeepingcostsdown.TournamentEntryFeescanbeveryexpensiveandrequireextracostwithtravelandaccommodations.**U8(2012’s)àItisverydifficulttofindoutsidecompetition;especiallyintheFallsegment.ManyclubsdonotpermitU8groupstoplayoutsideteams.CSCU8AcademyPoolwillplaymostly“intra-clubgames”wherewewillcreaterosterswithinourownpoolofplayers(boys&girls)andcreaterosterstocompeteagainstoneanotherina7v7game.TheremaybeopportunityforsomeoutsidecompetitionandpotentiallytournamentplayatthediscretionoftheAcademyDirector.TheremayalsobesomeU8playersaskedtoplayupwiththeU9agegroupforsomecompetitions.

FRIENDLIES/JAMBOREES:Typicallywillplay1-2gamesatonelocationwithina2-3-hourtimeperiod.CSCTOURNAMENTS:AllAcademyTeamswillplayineachoftheClarksvilleSCTournaments(October,May)NON-CSCTOURNAMENTS/TRAVEL:Thenumberofnon-CSCtournamentseachteamwillplaywillbedeterminedbasedontheperformanceofthegroupandthecompetitivenessreadinessofthegroup.

BREAKPERIODS&WINTERINDOORSEASONDuringFallandSpringBreak,itislikelywewillhaveGAMESscheduledontheweekendbeforeandafterthebreak.CoachesmaydecidetoaddatrainingduringFB/SBifyourteamhasgames.ItessentialthatyoumarkavailabilityonTEAMSNAPifyouareNOTavailableforcompetitionsthatarescheduledaroundtheFallandSpringBreakperiods.FallBreak(CMCSS) October14-18ThanksgivingBreak November25-29Winter/HolidayBreak December15-January6SpringBreak(CMCSS) March23-27Wewillcontinuetotrainindoorsthroughoutthewinter.WinterSchedulewillbereleasedinOctober.Wintercompetitionswillincludeour2CSCindoortournamentsandpossiblyoneotherevent.SpringScheduleswillbecompletedinJanuaryandreleasetoparentsassoonastheyareavailable.
