“Why should a boy or a girl join Cadet College?”.
This is a frequently asked question. If we look at the history of cadet colleges in the country, we see a very clear picture concerning the purpose of establishing this type of distinguished institutions.
After the partition of the Indian Subcontinent in 1947, a lack of skilled workforce to lead the administration of the newly found Pakistan became evident. The fulfilment of this need necessitated the establishment of specialized educational institutions.
It will be wrong to term the cadet colleges as merely educational institutions. Rather one should think of them as institutions aimed to producing graduates who are skilled and competent across a number of areas. The role of cadet colleges extends beyond academia, because bookish knowledge alone is not sufficient to create an ideal human being. For this reason, cadet colleges are keen on developing strong physical, mental, ethical, spiritual and social capabilities of the young learners. To acheive this,
they arrange a plethora of cultural, co-curricular, and extracurricular programmes to equip their cadets with the skills necessary to tackle the future challenges of the nation.
“Those who got chance to study in cadet colleges are very lucky, and the nation expects them to take the country to new heights by utilizing their merit”.
In the present context of the country where it is a challenge to maintain quality education, cadet colleges are proving their excellence in this regard. It is not misguided to say that cadet colleges have been able to support to every learner to find a definite and prosperous aim of life.
Cadets are especially trained to make them competent enough to serve the Armed Forces and other national institutions, and are playing important roles in other key fields like civil administration, diplomacy, politics, banking sector, teaching, media, journalism, law, and medicine.
Cadet colleges are undoubtedly a hallmark of offering quality education, and churning out brilliant, well-disciplined people.
