1 Introduction
The DDF passive equipment is used to minimize high density of the cables for distribution and communication from/to digital terminal equipment.
The entire transmission rate is based on E1 2Mbit/s.
The capability to handle large amounts of cables in a small footprint, it is one of the necessary facilities for digital transmission system because, at the same time, reduces the density of the links and provides significant cost-savings to the service provider.
In fixed networks the DDF system is installed between the user access (network interface) and transmission equipment (internal interface)
1.1 System Benefits
• Fast and easy installation
• High flexibility
• High cable density
• Wide range for all applications
• High reliability
• Meets all the requirements for 75/120 Ohm

1.2 Features
1.2.1 Scalability and Customer Versions
The current product portfolio for DDF equipment offers both 16 channels and 21 channels solutions for a wide spread of network connectors (µcoax, BCN, RJ45 and IDC). Besides the current 16/21 channels architecture, the DDF has been designed to allow easy scalability to different modularity as per customer request. Likewise also the internal interface, currently implemented via the high density connectors VDHCI can be easily customized to match any request for different interconnection.
1.2.2 Connector types
DDF implemented on a single adaptation card is able to manage indifferently 16 or 21 E1 channels Network interface (front side connectors): 1.0/2.3 micro coax (75 Ohm)
 BNC (75 Ohm)
 IDC (120 Ohm)
 RJ45 (120 Ohm)

FRAME is able to house up to two DDF according to the following mix:
 2x16E1 DDF
 1x16 E1 DDF + 1x21E1 DDF
The DDFs with 75 Ohm connectors (1.0/2.3 75 or BNC) include an impedance converter from 120 Ohm to 75 Ohm unbalanced because the DDF Inner interface accept only 120 Ohm tributary signal.
