In The Blessed Sacrament
The chapel is accessible at all times. The combination is 415. The door will lock safely behind you.
Jesus said that whoever believes in him, even should he die, will live forever. Then he proved it by raising his friend Lazarus from the dead. Can we hope to ever have a better friend than Jesus? We were invited as Lent began to seek an encounter with Jesus so that we can know him as the one person who loves us with a love beyond all telling. Yes, most of us are loved and have been loved by others, but none of them can give us everlasting life. None of them can save us from our sins nor raise us from the dead. Only Jesus. He alone is The Lord with the Father and the Holy Spirit. He alone can provide us with the strength to live through every difficulty and challenge. So, how is your encounter with Jesus going? Lent isn’t quite over yet, there’s still time.
If we haven’t yet met up with him, where and how shall we seek him? Since he’s literally everywhere, you could expect to run into him at your bedside, or on the way to work or school. And he hangs out here at the church all the time. He’s here during the week when few if any others are around. And he’s here when many are gathered to hear his word and to be nourished by his holy sacrament. You could begin your prayer with words like these: Lord, open my lips and my mouth will declare your praise. Pick up the bible and begin reading a few verses. Then be still and wait on the Lord to make contact with you. Be not afraid.
We need to be clear. Like Lazarus, all of Jesus’ friends suffer the death of their bodies. They were not meant to last long after all. But he will make good on his promise to raise us up so he can give us new bodies like the one he showed to his disciples following his resurrection. I desire one of these risen bodies, how about you? Then join me in this prayer: Lord, I believe you are the resurrection and the life. You are the Savior of the world!
DO YOU
BELIEVE THAT
JESUS IS THE
RESSURECTION
AND THE LIFE?
