GENERAL TIPS
Money and costUsing a Visitor Oyster Card is more than 50% cheaper than buying one-day paperTravelcards or single tickets with cash.
Get an Oyster Card: An Oyster Card will save you me and money when it comes tothose pesky travel related costs that seem to gobble up our cash. Grab an OysterCard (which is FREE, with a small refundable deposit) from a Tube Sta on and preloada given amount onto the card. When using an Oyster Card, your journey is not onlydiscounted but you’ll also have a maximum daily capped amount that you can spend inone day. This means that a er doing 3 or 4 journeys, the rest of the day’s travel willbe totally free around the whole of London!
Walk between tube stops: Speaking of travel, there are quite a few sta ons whereit’s actually quicker to walk rather than take the tube/bus. Case in point beingLeicester Square to Covent Garden, the walk will take less than 3 minutes, which isquicker than going underground on the tube and won’t cost you a dime!
Museums and art galleries are FREE: Speaking of free stuff, don’t forget that thelikes of the Natural History Museum, The Science Museum, The Bri sh Museum andmuch more are free for anyone to visit. Spend a day wandering through the manyhistorical artefacts and enjoy the rich heritage the city has to offer. Obviously,
is more than fine for a restaurant whilst there is no need to p at any bar or for drinks(again, it’s appreciated but never essen al, in fact, most Londoners don’t – especiallyon a night out where you’re ge ng several drinks in). There’s also no need to pwhen hailing a cab, though it o en makes sense to round up the amount to thenearest pound.
