True Blue
Pastor Mark Schwarzbauer PhDFamily Worship Center
II Timothy 2:8-138 Remember that Jesus Christ, of the seed of David, was raised from the dead according to my gospel, 9 for which I suffer trouble as an evildoer, even to the point of chains; but the word of God is not chained. 10 Therefore I endure all things for the sake of the elect, that they also may obtain the salvation which is in Christ Jesus with eternal glory.
II Timothy 2:8-1311 This is a faithful saying:
For if we died with Him,
We shall also live with Him.
12 If we endure,
We shall also reign with Him.
If we deny Him,
He also will deny us.
13 If we are faithless,
He remains faithful;
He cannot deny Himself.

and unwavering in both one’s
opinions and in support.
The TRUE BLUE of Faithfulness
• The expression “true blue” comes from the blue cloth that was made at Coventry England in the Middle ages.
• The town’s dyers had a reputation that the town’s for producing cloth that didn’t fade when washed. The cloth remained “true blue.”
• An expression developed “as true as Coventry blue.”
“Coventry had formerly the
reputation for dying of blues; insomuch
that true blue became a Proverb to signifie one that
was always the same and like
himself.”

Hebrews 6:4-6 4 For it is impossible for those who were once enlightened, and have tasted the heavenly gift, and have become partakers of the Holy Spirit, 5 and have tasted the good word of God and the powers of the age to come, 6 if they fall away, to renew them again to repentance, since they crucify again for themselves the Son of God, and put Him to an open shame.
