■ Heathfield Primary is afounding member of a groupof 10 schools that started theSchool at the Centre of theCommunity (S@CC)experience in South Africa.Through MetropolitanFoundation the school staffwere given training earlierthis month by theorganisation Character forLife.The programme is aboutteaching pupils seven values:caring, trustworthiness,respect, responsibility,fairness, citizenship and faith.Each value has a colour andthe teachers spent one month on each value, starting with caring by tying red banners around the treesand red balloons and red banners in the school foyer. All pupils and staff came to school dressed in redon Monday August 13.
