A Baby and ChildLifestyle Event
THE EVENTHaving a baby is such a magnificent, life-changing experience; and A Big BabyShower celebrates all those momentsleading up to and following the momentousoccasion. A Big Baby Shower helps new andexpectant parents to navigate the incrediblejourney of pregnancy and parenting.Together, with partners and participants, ABig Baby Shower helps parents to find thebeauty in the chaos of parenting, whileputting their best life forward!
Presented by Huggies, A Big Baby Showeropened its doors on Sunday July 21st, toapproximately 1300 patrons including morethan 300 mothers-to-be. All enjoyed a fun-filled day at the 3rd staging of the babyand child lifestyle expo, held this year atThe Jamaica Pegasus Hotel. Associatesponsor NCB Insurance, and all othersponsors and participants were onhand to ensure an entertaining day forall guests.
Many patrons won spot prizes rangingfrom diapers to gift bags and 3 luckyguests received one each of acomplete nursery from Singer,Johnson’s Baby, Huggies and othercontributors; a Nuttall Hospital giftcertificate for complimentaryaccommodation and a return travelticket to a choice destination courtesyof American Airlines.
The ConceptA Big Baby Shower was born out of a strong desire to
entertain and educate patron families in a holistic andcaptivating manner, while utilizing elements associatedwith chic, metropolitan events.
This year, presenting sponsor Huggies gifted manymothers-to-be-at the event with the opportunity to ‘meet’
their babies via 4D Ultrasounds offered by Dr. JosephWilliamson, Ultrasound Manager at the Shady GroveHospital in Washington DC. “Seeing my baby in real- timewas the highlight of the day for me – what an amazingevent!” gushed one mother-to-be. Almost 30 guests at theevent got the chance to enjoy the Huggies 4D Experience, while several others were recipients of gifts and prizes. Allpatrons received welcome bags with samples andbrochures from sponsors. Being well aware of the highcosts that are associated with welcoming a baby, A BigBaby Showers’ model of replicating a traditional babyshower, was evident in the volume of gifts given topatrons:
• A fully-furnished baby’s nursery from Singer Jamaica Limited, with convertible crib from Johnson’s Baby and other accessories from Babybop Store, Babeelicious, Diaper Cake from Diapers by Michelle, NCB-Custom-made toy box by Ffrench Dezigns, Bedding from Skip Hop and Dipaer Bag and other necessities from JJ Cole Collections

I had the privilege of participating in the “A Big Baby Shower” inJamaica. It was perhaps the most impressive non medical expothat I have attended. It was extremely well attended. Theparticipants were left wanting more which is a very good thing. That in itself speaks to the need of Jamaica to have more ofthese same events. I believe that it could have gone on for theentire weekend and it would have still been very well attendedand received. The vendors were full of pertinent information andevery interaction that I witnessed between vendor andparticipant was satisfying and informative. The entire eventdisplayed the class and innovation of B3 magazine.
Bravo B3! A job well done.
